Put it this way he has been poor this season since his injury , we need class at right back and left back the pressure on read and fonte was terrible I felt sorry for them .
We lost, this window, Arbeloa, Tore, Payet, Oxford and Zaza. We also lost Ogbonna to a season ending injury. All six of those have been in matchday squads this season. We signed Snodgrass and Fonte. From purely a numbers perspective, we have reduced the squad by four first team players. We also lost Kouyate and Ayew, but I appreciate that was only temporary. That's without even mentioning Masuaku and Sakho being long term absentees.
If Slav is happy with the squad, genuinely can look in your eyes and say that, he needs to have his position considered.
Where do people think Byram would be in his development had he been coached by our former manager?
Its never nice to take a heavy defeat but MCFC have a very difficult style to play against when they are in good form, especially when you have to chase the game. In hindsight, I think Slaven would chance to a back 3 but I can understand what and why he made the decisions he did-especially without Kouyate and Sakho who are exactly the kind of players needed in this type of game. The goals were avoidable but symptomatic of MCFC's difficult style because the pressure they put on you and the positions they are then in to then capitalise on it.
There are certain things which, as a team and individually, you have to do against MCFC because everyone knows how they are going to play and what they will and wont do, but its very difficult in practise; for example, you have to get MCFC turning and facing their own goal to take them off the front foot and influence their pressing game- Cresswell should've always been opening his body and playing it down the line (which he should've done for the 1st), but instead he was tryign to play too much and passing back into the press. We have to learn from it, not so much to play how they play, but more so about trying to be more deliberate in how we go about things and the structure we want to implement but that can only really come with committing to long term values and building around the manager.
But in my opinion his hands have been tied by the board.

West Ham conceded 4+ goals in 3 of their last 106 games at the Boleyn Ground.
They've equaled that in 12 PL games at the London Stadium.

Man city were not superb . It was a classic case of us being utter rubbish and making the opposition look like Real Madrid.
Arsenal at home . Man city in cup . Man utd in league cup. Southampton home. West Brom away. Watford home.
The list goes on and on.
Man City are a decent team but have being shown this season they are no world beaters yet we make them look like world beaters.
But I have no idea why you'd think this was the case and if it is the case did that happen with Slav's predecessor?

Didn't chase them and stood off............same result they cut us open.
They were clinical as well, took most of their clear chances while reducing us to next to nothing.
people can think what they like but that performance would've beaten most teams in this league and that was without Aguero. Quite frightening really.
We are 2-3 years off challenging the top 6 in any shape or form.

They are a good team but by no means world beaters because if they were they'd be streets ahead in the league and not sitting in 5th place.
We, on the whole, have played poorly all season and even in the games we've won we struggled. A few 1-0 wins, two of which involved penalties. Holding on for dear life at Palace and for the most part outplayed by Middlesbrough.
I don't know what the reason is but I'm not paid to but it seems to me that Bilic is not tactically aware and has no real game plan or back up plan. Last night he brought on Snodgrass but took off Carroll and we then started hitting crosses in. Maybe he's having to do it all alone because I'd be lying if I said I had any clue as to our trying staff other than Dicks and Woods.
That's not a dig at the board, by the way, it just doesn't necessarily support the argument that Slav didn't buy a right back purely because he was happy with his options.
Every Manager wants to improve his team if there's enough money to do so, The quote attributed to Slav about being happy with the team sounds like he just doesnt want yet another DS stupid bargan basement punt with money yet again and he's been trapped into this quote as a way of saying no to DS's New Year annual cowboy shopping.
I have never liked the way they go about their relationships through public quotes about their employees which owes more to the Trump style than to giving their manager, players and other employess genuine confidence. Bilic knows more about what the team can do than the massed family ranks of the Sullivans and Golds put together so I do hope this isnt the beginning of a Daves campaign on the sly to get him to resign by end season. ;hmm
