    ;thumbsup hope you weren't driving!
  • Lukerzzz

How often do I get top of a thread?

You think that's just coincidence when talking about a FF table?

    ;wink
  • You so know my team is going to bomb on the opening day now!! ;hmm ;whistle
  • Us USA based Hammers have to look and study that much harder ( especially those of us who dont get Match of the Day anymore ;weep )
  • Proxy servers are your friend ;ok
  • Unless you want to only pick players from the TOP 4 you don't learn much from MOTD anyway.
  • I liked to watch and analyse ( compulsive, cant help it at work or at sport and most other things ) so MOTD was a good source to study players that were coming into form but not yet scoring well in the Fantasy football game. I read reports/articles instead now
  • Walters is also a player to watch, providing he gets games this season.

Usually gets around 10 goals, is classed as a MID, gets clean sheet points in a strong defensive side and is cheap.
  • Yes, has always scored a few over the a season. You're right re game time as Stoke have been transitioning for a while now
  • ;ok

Cabaye is a risk, because he's not a prolific scorer.

But he generally takes all set-plays and I expect Pards to get Palace far more solid this season. YC will also play every week, he'll be their best player.

Same with Dann. Hoping he'll rack up clean sheets and he got 5 goals last season.
  • so, we're all in agreement then.

We all copy Baz's squad as he lets us know throughout the season the changes he makes, and we all share the trophy at the end of the season.

    ;wink
  • I did that last season .. sadly, only the latter bit ;weep
  • Anyway want to bet that Baz finishes bottom of the league.... ;biggrin

I have made my team if full of pace and invention and it has 2 WH players.

I have never picked 2 WH players before...

As such my FF proves that WH are progressing so there.

Have taken baz's advice and made a couple of changes. Got rid of Cahill and brought in a cheapo who I think will play (Clark), then brought in Eriksen, so I have a strong midfield of Eriksen, Payet, Cabaye, Lallana and Hazard. Hopefully they bank the points, Cech, Benteke and Giroud chip in, and the rest of my weaker back line hit good form. I also put Schlupp in for Cresswell, as I was gonna put him in to start with but thought he was classed as a defender. I don't like having too many WHU players as I always think it jinxes the side.
  • To start I’ve gone with,
    Cech

    Jagielka------------Clyne ---------Cahill-------------Azpilicueta

    Cazorla-----------Coutinho-----------Yaya Toure

    Sakho-------------Benteke------------Lukaku

    Subs, Adrian, Fonte, Brunt, Chadli.

  • Lukerz... Do you think Lallana will play more this season? He's been used sparingly and not done too much compared to Southanpton days. They've bought a few players and after paying a lot for Firmino and Benteke I imagine they'll be regulars. He's got to fit in Henderson and Milner centrally with Coutinho more advanced as he will play most of the time too. Also, now they have Clyne, I think Can will be moved to midfield too. Anyway, my point is I believe that Benteke, Coutinho, Milner and Henderson will be present most weeks and if they spent 29M Firmino to be playmaker, I'd imagine he will be starting most games too ( he's one of those heavy scoring/assisting midfielders I targeted ).

So if they go the usual 4-2-3-1 I think it'll be Benteke up front with Coutinho, Firmino behind with players like Ings ( wondering when Sturridge will return too ), Ibe. Origi, Lallana, Can and Markovic trying to be one of the three behind Benteke

I'm not saying Lallana is a bad player, as hes clearly not that. Just think he'll not play week in week out or be one of the ones substituted a lot and at 7.5M thats a chunk of your 100M.

Lol my capacity to mess with my squad and transfer is achilles heel! The watchers I mentioned in the posting will be nagging me to include them before the season starts and the ones I take out will score loads ;nonono So my team could be pretty different before the season starts and a couple of weeks into it too!

I put up the team and watchers just to share the insight as said. There are plenty of other players of course like Sterling at 9M ( I wonder if he'll play regularly, I think probably but you never know with City and there arent many who play every week there )

If I'm bottom of the league i'll take it... Being a West Ham supporter toughens you up for embarrassment ;whistle
  • Front 6 of Coutinho, Hazard, Walcott, Kane, Benteke, Lukaku.

    Winner.
  • Shame you can't afford any defenders ;lol
  • Lord Noble must be in there ;wink

    Out of pure curiosity....

Which of the 2 teams pasted below is preferred?
Forward line + Gks are the same...
First team has a strong midfield and 3 quality defenders + back up
Second team incorporates IMO two best MF players ( for Walcott/Sterling ) and sacrifices Firmino for Ritchie...

Like I said just curious if the stronger defence is preferred (Ivanovic ) or moving in Schlupp and Ritchie who I think will score/assist in reasonable proximity to Ivanovic and Firmino ( or will they? ) to have a core front 5 of Depay/Hazard/Sanchez/Rooney/Benteke (with good prospect Aarons and Deeney who's got a 20 a season tally over years )

I think just typing it all has made me decide....

    1st one for me. ;ok

Made another two changes. Clark out and Wollscheid in (bargain at £4.5m in a strong Stoke defence). Was their first choice CB with Shawcross last season.

Lallana out and Sigurdsson in, who always does well for me.
  • baz, I would have a ? over whether Walcott would play 90min regularly ;ok
  • Yes, he's been unlucky with injuries but he scores/assists heavily + is essentially a striker scoring midfield points. I figure if I go with him and something happens then i am going to want Sanchez anyway (unless Walcott is scoring too heavily ). Its tricky if youre an Arsenal MF. They have a lot of quality there, so yes, if he isnt starting regularly at 9M he has to go. In his favour though is the capacity to be play further forward ( basically in front of Ramsey, Ozil, Cazorla etc )

;ok I brought him in last year after he returned from his injury but had to shift him out again as he wasn't getting picked consistently.

It is (for me) the dilemma when picking players from the top teams (esp MF) as they have an embarrassment of riches and with them usually being in two competitions, they tend to rotate quite a lot.

With Walcott, say you decided to move him out, you'd have to move 2 players to get Sanchez (as he costs so much more). Then it all becomes even more ;hmm ;fence ;puzzled and for me, usually ends in ;weep
  • I think if hes fit ( and scoring like at the end of the season ) he'll play more often than not.I think he was eased back over a period last season as he'd been out a while. Then when he started scoring it was finished.

If not, I have to find 2M for Sanchez and that'll depend on who's doing well ( who's 2M less than what I've got ;whistle )
  • I started this last season, but I seem to put a curse on my choices, Sturridge..out most of the season, Erikson did`nt score till I transfered him out and so it the list of woe goes on..so if I pick players from Hammers opening 6 matches opposition perhaps it will give us an edge.. ;whistle
