    Edit - reply to Munich.
It had a different dynamic because both teams were going for a win (imo) because of all the 'automatic promotion rivals' narrative that's going on.

Both were a bit rubbish in parts 😂

Thanks. As I only have the highlights I can't really say much which is disappointing but the Mrs won't let me spend all those Saturday afternoons on the couch watching football while she has to watch the kids (quite rightly so) and she also would not allocate the funds either.

So please keep it up, I am relying on it.
  • We always seem to do better when Pablo is in the team but for the life of mei cannot understand why that is the case.

It’s his work off the ball. He is a relentless presser, blocks passing lanes for the opposition defenders, and makes it much harder for them to play out. He also makes very unselfish runs, pins the opposition centre backs in, and opens up space for others to work in. He constantly rotates with Bowen, and he and Taty seem to have a great understanding of who goes in behind and who drops in. Consistently he has shown he’s not up to much on the ball, but he basically enables everyone else more time and space to be better.
  • alderz, As long as it works fine but isn't a striker meant to score some goals?

Not if his name is Pablo...

But there’s always another a striker with him. We assume he’s a striker because that’s what he played as before but Nuno’s never really played him there. He’s a midfielder basically.

I couldn't care less who scores goals as long as the team does. If Pablo plays 100 games for us and never scores, but we win the majority of them, I'll be very happy.
  • That Mukasa, wow - he's the kind of youngster we should be developing - oh wait. ;)
  • Re: Pablo, this is worth a watch from Analytics United.

These aren’t your standard YouTube fans, they are data analysts, they write the new signing scout reports for the OS, and are in the pre and post match press conferences.

  • Good vid Alderz.
  • I think that the previous low opinion of Pablo stems from his poor touch for a striker, and of course his failure to score.
I wonder if it's a cunning ruse of Nuno's to call him a striker when in fact he's playing more like an attacking mid-fielder. =)
But anyway the fact remains that we are better when he plays than when he doesn't.

  • The ultimate Pabloganda - 51% win rate when he plays. 16% when he doesn’t.
