Edit - reply to Munich. It had a different dynamic because both teams were going for a win (imo) because of all the 'automatic promotion rivals' narrative that's going on.
Thankfully we got the win. We scored 4 which is great Still lots of work to do IMO. But hey, we won. I’ve been critical of Scarles, but he played better tonight IMO 👏🏻 Strange game… COYI ⚒️⚒️⚒️
Whoscored has him as a bit over 92% pass accuracy.
Not criticising your take, but I just looked up the stat for you 😄
What I like is he always shows for the ball, never hides, is always moving into space to get involved in the game, still got areas to work on but thought that was his best game so far
Both goals were a little unlucky, the deflection off Mukasa for the first quick wrong-footed Mavropanos & the OG, but we are too flimsy at the moment to attack
I thought the referee did well tonight. IMO, he looked in control and like he was the boss, and the players knew it. He didn’t blow the whistle everytime someone fell over, and didn’t relay on VAR to make decisions for him. To me it helped with the flow of the game.
Also, I believe the discussions (arguments?) in the pub (or anywhere else) about the decisions add to the matchday experience - rather than relying on another faceless official in a box somewhere! 😂

Whilst I agree with the overall premise, I have no idea how Jordan James got booked when Mavro dived in on him
Happy to secure the point and bank a win but imo I thought it a strange game…almost schoolboy defending from both teams, may have been entertaining for the neutral but neither team can say that they were in control of the game at any time.
It was a strange set up from the start, We always seem to do better when Pablo is in the team but for the life of mei cannot understand why that is the case.

Both were a bit rubbish in parts 😂
Which games will he not get booked in.
That’s the best side we will play this season
We scored 4 despite not being amazing

That said, I would worry a bit if he's our only left back option for the whole season.
This is more of what we are after when we need to control the game.
Scarles too narrow for the other
Could be our bench by Millwall game
Oh hang on, we won so he’s ok for at least another game.🎉
I'll give him 2 more games to get settled ( so generous 😂) but then will be expecting a lot more.

Engels caught the eye, looks like the real deal
