  • Watching Arsenal vs Coventry - Coventry looked tidy for the first ten minutes but made a mistake and were quickly punished.

Coventry never really recovered and it was easy pickings for Arsenal, currently 3-0 ip and looking for more.

It may only be Coventry but Arsenal look really good- they have a new left winger - Tzolis who has shone and been involved in almost everything
  • Can’t get excited about the Prem. I have no team of interest there although I do think Brighton, Brentford and Bournemouth have done well to be there for so long and establish themselves as top 6 material.
  • Fair enough, Exeter.

My interest is mainly in my FF players, plus Rice, and to have a good knowledge of the opposition for next season :-)
  • I don’t mean to be dismissive MrsGrey.

There for sure should be a place to talk about the Prem, and no doubt I will post as much as others😊

  • Ally McCoist after - checks notes - the second game of the PL season so far.

    Top work
  • Man U were splendidly useless in all departments. Serve them right for not buying Mats Fernandes.

    Related: Ipswich Coventry, Newcastle
Top scorer: that Pedro? Chelsea cf
  • Fernandes on the bench for Spurs
  • Fernandes on the bench for Spurs

Obviously don't want to get relegated then =)
  • Spurs 2 down at half time.
  • Make that 3-0
  • Fernandes on for the second half.

    And Spurs concede a 3rd.

A ray of sunshine on a glum match day 😂
  • See…every cloud has a silver lining
  • Spurs are looking as bad as ever…..so nearly four down, another penalty miss after the striker stuttered during the run up.
  • Just came here to say the same thing.

    Stuttering and off the post.
  • Al this hooha about James Madison having a bunch of kids.

    He earns £170,000

    PER WEEK!!!

They can afford help, child care and domestic staff.

Tbh that was a bit of an issue for me with Fornals when his form fell off a cliff after his partner had a baby. Yes, naturally he should still be involved in bringing up his kids, but underforming in any ordinary job wouldn't be well received just because you've become a parent, and footballers are paid plenty well enough to help ensure that there is sufficient help to stop that happening.
  • Although, in an ordinary job the parents can take parental leave. If one partner needs to take on more of a role to support the other or pick up a bigger load in the family dynamic. (Post-natal depression is a thing!)

I agree that there's plenty money to get practical help, or pay for hotels to get a good night's sleep before a game day etc. but there is the emotional burden also, which can't be as easily outsourced.
  • but underforming in any ordinary job wouldn't be well received just because you've become a parent

    As a woke leftie :p ...

i think 'ordinary jobs' should be discouraged from this approach.

  • Interesting end to the Newcastle Liverpool game. Right at the end of 5 minutes stoppage time Newcastle decided to make a substitution presumably to see out time as they do. The ref though decided to add the 30 seconds which they’re meant to do for a substitution and immediately Liverpool went upfield and got a penalty. No substitution and there'd have been no time for a penalty to be conceded.
Hopefully Taty (and everyone else at West Ham) were watching because without any tap dancing the penalty was dispatched with force.
  • They should cut down on all the players going on at each other and the ref after var has confirmed a penalty ,Always seems an age after var has given it to the player taking it
  • Seemed an extremely soft penalty to me, the Liverpool player basically ran into the defender and crumpled like a house of cards.

  • Good game going on at Fulham ,Both teams going for it .
  • Yes watching it. West Ham are miles away from the quality of Chelsea and to a slightly lesser degree, Fulham.
  • Chelsea look a class above anything.
  • Other than their keeper
