  • I am not excited by Piroe who thrives in a possession based team. Would rather we signed Vipotnik who scores goals in a team with low possession.

Re Engels, I have never ever seem him play, has anyone? what are your thoughts if you have ?
  • Parrott was left out of the AZ squad over the weekend.
  • I'm with Luke - get people who can do the job we need them to do now

So MrsG you will be ok with us getting Vardy to help us gain promotion?

    No.

If we had Vardy yesterday to replace Pablo, IMO I don't think we'd have lost, he's not the long term solution, of course, but......

I'd say he was as sick as a, oh hang on

Not sure that's the same, Vardy is 38 so the question is more what does he have left

But saying that, Teddy Sheringham was key to our promotion, so if Vardy can do a job then yea id be happy for him to join...although wouldn't be my first choice

Sky say Piroe just waiting for the green light to do his medical. I believe he’ll be a fantastic signing.

He's also played with Solomon, so guess that can only be a good thing.....
  • Piroe on way for medical, according to Sky
  • Piroe Agent thinks its best for him to move .Do players now not think for themselves

Personally, I’ve always felt you don’t judge managers until a couple of windows. Nuno had January, where he added Taty, Disasi, Traore & Pablo. We had top 6 form for the rest of the season.

He’s now into his first full summer window here, where he has signed Veltman, Engels & Solomon, but also had to contend with the aftermath of relegation. I will wait until the window closes, see what our squad looks like, & then give him a period of games to see how we play under him in the Champ.

I don’t think it fair to judge Nuno now. We know he has shortcomings but he is (IMO) the best level of manager we could have (on paper) at this level. My preference was to replace him with Parker, but when I heard he wanted to remain & get us back up, I felt that was a respected call as he could have left. I will give him time & hopefully in September we have a more ‘Nuno’ squad, a more settled/focused squad & we can start to show what he did at Wolves.
  • Hopefully at the close of the window we will have a new Centre Half but rumours are now saying that is no longer a priority? Only one of the 4 players you mentioned is actually contributing in a positive way atm and part of the squad that showed top 6 form were Fernanades & Summerville.

As Jay said on the other thread if we aren't in the top six at Christmas he will be gone and so he should be.
  • I think we've done well enough in terms of transfer fees to sort us out (especially with best pattof £50mil from Duouf and AWB) , think getting big wages off the bill os a good move, then any fees next year can be added to the next Financial year

Glad Piroe is coming, his record speaks for itself we're getting a guy whose finsihed in the top 5 top scorers in the league 3 season, 1 of which he won the golden boot

Disappointing we couldn't get these guys in earlier, having Piroe and Engels yesterday would've got us the 3 points
  • Still need reinforcements at the back imo

Potentially one of the worst pound for pound players we’ve ever signed - £30m odd, four year deal, only ever goes out on loan, when he’s here he’s injured or rubbish, still two years left on his deal, the loan deal has no option or obligation to buy, he’ll be back here next summer if the loan isn’t terminated early

I’m sure he’s fed up too, but it’s been an awful signing for all involved
  • So it appears we are just getting rid of players for the sake of it because we don't have any alternative which is disappointing.

The alternative is, of course, the player sits around collecting £40k (or whatever), not playing or, if they do play, they play badly - which all the evidence suggests Füllkrug will.

Whilst I agree with you Lukerz can you really see us signing the same number of players to replace the ones we are currently looking to offload by any means.

IF both full backs go for hopefully a lot more than WHU quoted earlier, as I thought we wanted at least £40 million for Diouf alone, with another £25 million for AWB. JCT on loan no money coming in for a permanent move but nonetheless we will need a new CB. I know we have Veltman but he can't play as a FB at the same time we need him at CB?
Another striker would be good plus another midfielder especially if Alvarez or Magassa leave? So that's five as a minimum.

We arent going to replace everyone we sell 1-for-1
  • That's not a surprising view WHU but it's also far from positive.
  • Still hoping Disasi will come back to us.Think there was talk he might go to crystal palace but that seems to have died .talk he's training on this own with no one interested .Thought he had a good time with us so why not a loan fee and option to buy .Only 2 weeks left of transfer window can't believe he wants to sit and not play for at lest half the season ..Also said he needed a week or two to think things over well that ship has sailed
  • Todibo looks like he might be off to Marseille - here’s hoping
  • That laugh Lukerz is out of frustration! We are worse off with Kilman in the team than with JCT in it even with his hissy fits.
