  • Didn't we pay £19 million for Diouf so we do need to make a decent profit?

Doubling our money wouldn't be good enough?

I see that Magassa is also likely to leave, with Mavropanos & Taty having multiple clubs interested & both leaving is also a possibility, hence the links to multiple strikers (C&H). Diouf also more likely to leave than stay at this point. Club still trying to shift AWB, Todibo & Füllkrug.

Ex says Alvarez is likely to stay as he has formed a strong relationship with Nuno & Disasi joining is still a possibility, whilst Nelson is would be a permanent deal if it happened.

If we keep all of our players (fingers crossed Taty and Mavro stay), I would say we needed one CM, one more CB and possibly another AM / FW.

Strength in depth is key and we need to keep looking

    What’s a FW?🤷🏻‍♂️
    I can’t keep up with the terminology.😃

    A CF I suppose
  • IF Magassa & Diouf go without even including the likes of Mavropanos & Taty as well it doesn't back up DK's we are keeping our best players message does it? Too many holes to be filled atm as it is without any more first choice players leaving.

The issue with Diouf is he is clearly currently best suited to a WB role, which we don’t play. We need a proper LB, good defensively, capable going forward. So is it better to cash in on a player not suited to our system (but would work for Brentford who play a back 3/5), & use the money to buy a LB that can work better in a flat back four? Possibly. Potter bought him to use as a WB, he trialed pre-season with Aguerd, Kilman, Todibo as our back three & Diouf was a LWB. Nuno changed that.

One of the big issues last year was Diouf was playing as a LB in a back four, & was exploited defensively. I don’t think he has the ability to play as a natural LB at the moment.

Yes but buy the same token its not a good look forcing players to stay who want to leave

We haven't sold anyone on the cheap, we've stuck to our valuations and haven't budged and thats commendable, even if we're in the Prem we needed to be smarter with our sales and selling at the right time

I wouldn't say Magassa is a key player, and if you said Dinos & Taty were to leave and were going to be replaced by Disasi & Parrott I think you'd be happy with that

Diouf I think we manage with Scarles and Mayers
  • We also have AWB but for how long?

    Everton interested
  • Disasi alongside Mavro yes but not instead of as I’m not sure a Disasi/Kilman pairing is as strong.
Taty seems a natural goal scorer and a hard worker so I’d rather he stayed than get Parrott who I know nothing about.
  • Surely it’s got to be Disasi & Parrott for Kilman & Pablo, now that is better business.
Vardy for a year & he helps get promoted us can’t say no IF that is what is achieved.
Anyone who leaves from now on will need replacing.
  • The worry for me is because we are a Champ club, there is a risk of any of our key players leaving, right up until deadline day.
  • Athletic report Villa want AWB but we want £25m
  • Ex reports third bid for Engels will go in (Celtic have also agreed a fee for another midfielder, which could indicate a replacement for him)
  • We seem to have about £60m of ‘pending’ money that has not yet been completed, but has been bookmarked for certain deals (reducing our budget in other areas) - Engels, Disasi & Parrott. They are likely to run until the last few days.
  • I'm sure it was reported that around two weeks ago that Disasi wanted a week to two weeks to make a decision about us.

    Tick tock.

Still have to question our scouting, well I want to. Celtic sign Kasper Hogh from Bodo for less than we are thinking of paying for Parrott? They are also looking to replace Engels with a player for a fraction of the price we are expected to pay. Can't see us being able to replace all the players who look to be leaving by the close of the window at this rate.
  • There should be no loans without obligation to buy.
  • Is the thought that we are loaning players out with a view to them coming back hopefully in a years time when we get promoted, otherwise just sell them?

Southampton have taken Divin Mubama on a 1 year loan from City.

    We should have been....
  • Slowly, the players who represented us in EPL are leaving - Fernanades, Summerville, Potts. Maybe AWB, Diouf next, possibly followed by Taty, Mavropanus and Pablo. Todibo, Areoloa, Alvarez, Cornet and Fullkrug were never really part of last year's team and could leave as well. Need an extensive rebuild and strength in depth but time is short. Bowen staying is a huge positive and can help to attract new players..

Hope the recruitment team has some high quality targets and have made solid assessment of players who can step up from U-21s. The burden of expectations is high and we need to start winning from day one.
  • I think your post is a tad negative Penge. Some my leave but to loose them all would be careless.
  • A lot of these players failed us so I’m not that bothered. If someone like Mavropanos goes that’s a shame but it’s also not like he’s done much good for us without Disasi next to him. Obviously we need to keep a few but I think keeping Soucek, Taty and hopefully bringing back Disasi alongside Bowen is a pretty good core to build around.

I doubt every single one of these rumoured to leave actually will and keeping hold of too many will prevent us from rebuilding.
  • Outcast, The rebuilding should have started a long time ago IF we are still going to lose AWB, Diouf, Todibo, Fullkrug & possibly Mavropanos and Taty. That would be nine in total with how many incomings so far? We start the slog that is the Championship on Sunday with no real strength in depth as most of the Under 21's don't look up for it.
  • As I’ve said many times, you can’t rebuild whilst the players are still here. Nobody wants those players.

Lukerz, If we can't start a rebuild whilst they are still here then lets just play them as what is going to happen if come the end of the window no one has made an acceptable bid for them?

AC Milan boss Ruben Amorim has decided Fikayo Tomori and Christopher Nkunku do not figure in his plans this season, according to Sky in Italy.

The former Chelsea duo are now expected to move on in the final weeks of the transfer window after failing to convince the former Manchester United boss in pre-season.

Youssouf Fofana and David Odogu are also not in Amorim's plans for the season ahead, while Pervis Estupinan, Santiago Gimenez
and Philip Terracciano face uncertain futures
    .

Here are a few replacements we could look at?
  • But we can only go for the replacements once we have sold the originals - what happens if we sign a CB, ST, WG & the likes of Todibo, Füllkrug, Cornet stay?

This is what I posted at 4.45?

I agree we can't replace players who haven't left but we aren't playing them either. Magassa should be retained but could be leaving, Why?
Todibo is better than Kilman & him going is on NES as is AWB.
We just appear to be weakening our squad strength whilst our rivals do the opposite. I'll be more content, that will be something =), IF we sign the likes of Parrott, Disasi and Austbo plus possibly Engels.
  • Why is Todibo and AWB on NES?
  • IronHerb, NES picked the wrong starting line up at Newcastle and in a failed attempt to correct his error he took Todibo off to bring on Taty after 25 minutes. AWB is our best right back and Nuno doesn't pick him?
  • So basically Todibo is sulking that's NES fault? Not so sure about AWB. He' doesn't want to be here so not sure that's NES fault either.
