Oh boy, the allegations are clearly serious and although apparently nothing to do with West Ham Utd, I can only see this adding to the turmoil surrounding the club as we head towards next season.
It will likely hasten the departure of key players and hinder the hiring of quality replacements.
Now that he has resigned he will not have much impact on the day to day running of the club but even with relegation his shares are still worth a significant amount, lets hope he is looking for a buyer.
The interim executive director is running day to day stuff so I doubt we will notice much difference especially as it’s close season. Maybe he will be successful in his libel case against the BBC and he can plough the amount he receives into the club.
So he is still heavily involved, but not a director (officially). Or does this mean his funding for the club will be withdrawn & what does that mean for us?
Depending on what happens from the accusations will he be allowed to keep them if he fails the fit and proper test for owning shares in a club? Might have to sell them maybe?
He put £15M into the club to cover the pandemic year and had already paid about £50M or so to buy his share of the club in the first place when the club had debts of £120M. I’m not sure why people expect a football club owner to keep ploughing his own money in regularly if as a business it’s not profitable. We’ve not been at all clever in transfer dealings and that’s probably down to him because we’ve never had a reliable recruitment or scouting team. We’ve also got a “director of football” Mark Noble who I would bet nobody, including those at the club, have any idea what he does. Will be interesting to see how things pan out for next season.
He knows full well he is not loved by the West Ham fans, his Son is never going to transcend his name, if he has resigned the club can no longer be a plaything,,,, so hopefully someone will make him an offer for his shares and the family will exit the club.
@Slacker, So it's the be careful what you wish for mode then?
No not really , but I think some have got rather short memories. Remember the state the club was in when they took over.Look he’s made some dreadful mistakes at the club with managers and transfers and I’m by no means a GSB apologist but I don’t think everything can be laid at his door. Let’s see what happens……

Yes, because he probably thought that he was the absolute whizz club owner. Rather than employ professionals, tried to do it himself.
And the times that he didn't back managers fighting for CL, Big Sam, Bilic and Moyes.
He was happy to avoid relegation and had no ambition for the club other than the PL cash dispenser.
I am so pleased he's been pushed aside, and hope that Danny K shafts him over any share sales.
Why do people seem to think that PL money either through tv or gate receipts or league position goes into the pocket of the club owners rather than the club accounts. I doubt that any club owner actually makes any real money until such time as they sell their shares.
Loans are permitted under the P&S rules but straightforward gifts/donations are not. That’s why clubs such as Chelsea, Newcastle etc “sell” their women’s team or hotels etc to themselves to get around it.
West Ham United co-owner David Sullivan has stepped down from his position as joint chairman of the club with immediate effect following a joint investigation by BBC Panorama and the Times newspaper into his behaviour. The BBC said Panorama's story is due to be broadcast and published on Monday.

Hold onto your hats

If the club was to lose that source of funding, is that not a huge problem
