It needs Spurs to lose their last two and us to beat Leeds, neither of which is going to happen. As so often happens with us, when push comes to shove we just can’t help ourselves. Our form over the last few games must be among the worst

Today, it is a story of the starting team selection, formation and tactics. Nuno lost on all counts. Two gifted goals were inexcusable. Of course, relegation is determined by season long poor performances. Time to rebuild as star players are sure to leave. Relegation money and proceeds from sale of players need to be used more effectively than the Declan Rise money.
We are capable of beating Leeds, I just do not see Spurs not getting the point they need out of the two games they have left
Exactly this 😢😢 Bowen, while he’s been involved in lots of goal assists recently he’s really gone off the boil IMO, a shadow of the player he’s been, he looks like he’s lost all confidence… 2 mistakes gifted them goals + a Nuno no no starting 11 didn’t help matters…
Thant was awful. Dont know what is going on with Bowen but he was hardly in the game again. Nuno's team selection and subs are baffling. we will be very lucky to stay up.
That is such a frustrating result, no one, and I mean no one can really make case why we set up the way we did and with Wilson up top, it makes no sense whatsoever.
I truly believe the players themselves knew, once the change was made, suddenly the whole team started challenging more effectively and passing with purpose, there may be no excuse for it but when we started out, the players seemed reluctant to press and were slow to take responsibility with the ball opting to go long or take the easy path backwards.
We effectively gave Newcastle a two goal lead and surrendered 20mins of a game that was supposedly a must win game for us.
Once the change was made and we woke up, for fully competitive and created decent chances.
I feel it was Nuno who got us back into the survival scrap and got our heads in front but also Nuno who stopped us really going for it once we had ourselves out of the bottom three. The throw everything into winning seemed to turn into lets try not to lose, and it hasn't served us.
@claretandbluesky agree with all of that. While there is a glimmer of hope I’ll hang on in there, gotta hope Chelsea want to do their bit, their games v Spurs always have a lot of needle and then it’s down to Mr Moyes to show his love of the Irons, to do his best for us and prove he still loves us 🤣and then we have to rely on Nuno to get his selection right, but sadly I just can’t see it all falling our way, anyway we’ve lost 3 in a row and deserve to be where we are…
We only have ourselves to blame as to why we are where we are, we have created chances but failed to convert them and in this league that will prove fatal.
Throw in a touch of bad luck, some self inflicted wounds with truly bizarre team selections, a few goal giveaways and abracadabra - you end up in the bottom three
We had a reasonable spell of games a couple of months or so ago and thought we might get out of it but 2 wins in our last 8 games is really poor and only one goal scored in 4 away games. It’s almost as if they thought it was job done when we got close and then got out of the bottom three. Once again today we have players stating we started too slowly, didn’t press and we’re too slow on second balls. If. They knew or really cared about what was at stake these things should be second nature.
If we had won today, I would have watched the spurs game with interest, as it is, I loath the idea of actively rooting for Chelsea when I believe it a lost cause.
I will check in for the result when it is over..we either will have a shot in our final game or we won’t
They only need a point from Chelsea and Everton, I think even if they lose to Chelsea they'd be confident of getting a point to aeverton who've run out of steam

Despite the win, it's not a happy club!

Chelsea win and Spurs will be as nervous as us
