  • Clumsy tackle from Bowen there, fortunate not to get a yellow and even more fortunate not to crock himself
  • Generally pretty poor from both sides, ball being given away freely.
  • Fernandes involved in everything so far.
  • Tough chance for Taty from the edge of the box but didn't trouble the keeper.
  • Did you ever drink in the Alma on Church Road Leytonstone back in the day? Was a West Ham pub back in the 70s and 80s, long closed now.

The Alma was Leyton rather than Leytonstone, between the Oliver Twist and Lion & Key, just up the road from Brisbane Rd

Was a NF/BNP pub when I moved there in 1988, became the Four Finches then closed

    Named after Alma Cogan…
  • This is looking like a very winnable game but thus far our final passes just not connecting -
  • My dad's cousin was landlord there for a good while, but he passed away mid 80s, so before you moved there by the sounds of it.
  • Taty so close to intercepting the ball in their box there.
  • That looked nasty by Hughes, but no card.
  • And now they’re complaining about Gallows Corner

I have found the West Ham plastics

I might have to find another pub…
  • Great attempted bicycle kick by Taty but unfortunately it was blocked en route to goal.
  • I think I am probably with him on Gallows corner 😀
  • Great effort by Mavropanos, but too close to the keeper. Great build up play, the best of the match so far.
  • Stunning bit of play, great ball in by Diouf, bullet header by Mavro and a top save by the keeper
  • Can't see palace being this bad second half

They have been pretty poor, but they haven't got a particularly deep squad either.

  • We’ll be kicking ourselves if we don’t win this game
  • Probably should be ahead on balance of things

We haven’t been all over them but we look the more balanced & better side, they still pose a threat & we know they have Mateta & Sarr on the bench, two very good players
  • Bit of a frustrating game, it is not that we have played badly but I am not sure we know how to play against Palace today.

We thought it would be a good time to play them and it certainly is as they have been terrible, this is a game we should be winning comfortably but we do not seem to have enough composure on the ball to take advantage.

Hopefully the break will give us a time to think it through and we can come out in the second half with a better realization of the game we are in.

I know he has carried us for a while, but we need Bowen to up it, this is arguably the biggest 6 games in our recent history, he has to show up & do the business for us like MGW did yesterday. I know he has always bailed us out but we need him now more than ever.
  • They’ll have Mateta and Sarr come on and Mateta has a habit of scoring against us.
  • A very poor game, would not be surprised to see this end 0-0. Its up to West Ham to set the tempo being the team needing the points the most. Bold decisions to come from Nuno, subs are going to be critical and whether Nuno will push the players to taking more risks.
  • At some point they’ll stick on Mateta, Sarr and Kamad, things might get a bit tricky after that

The plastics are now discussing bottled water

I am in pub football hell…
  • Pleased with how hard we've worked to win possession back.
  • COYI ⚒️⚒️⚒️

I reckon you should introduce windmill turbines into the conversation
  • A decent corner by Bowen, followed by a shocking one.
  • Got a bad feeling about this now
