  • Even if Moyes wasn’t currently employed I doubt he’d ever come back after last time

Bilic has had five clubs since us and the longest he lasted was a season and a half at West Brom. Maybe not…
  • I personally would love to have Slav back.
  • Slav is a bit predictable in that he would come in and have a great effect on the dressing room and get a decent start, then his tactics would be worked out pretty quickly and then he would lack the ability to keep the play and team evolving through a season.

  • I would still love Slav back.
  • Also, most managers are predictable. Some just have a more predictable winning side than others.
  • If he goes it will be Nuno - which would be a backward step in relation to trying to evolve the side.

  • For what it”s worth (if anything) this just popped up on my facebook page.
  • He is just going on a shopping trip to Lakeside.
  • Tbf that could be anywhere.
  • 4/9 on Potter being sacked
  • EXETER, That may happen in the near future but I have no confidence that his replacement will play the type of football which will bring the fans the level of excitement they crave.

It's LOT 14 in Theydon Bois.

Obviously it could have been photoshopped, but the restaurant is definitely Lot 14 at Theydon.
  • Anyone reckon we should have persisted with Lop longer?

He'd have to be to consider taken a job at West Ham!
  • Nuno, Bilic, Potter

Doesn’t matter, the squad is not fit for purpose, it’s one of the worst in the league
  • The squad isn't great. However, we need a manager that instills some confidence nc in the players.

    Bilic for me.

I'm not sure I agree. It's imbalanced, and way out of form, but the players are much better than they are producing, IMO.

    Fixed it for you :+1:
  • New Manager - New way of playing

Back to square 1, not going to solve anything.

I would be getting experience for Potts / Earthy / Fearon / Marshall get them ready for the championship push.
  • I think they will be looking for a Big Sam like contract for the season to avoid relegation and then look again in the summer.

If they do get rid, as I expect they will, it will be interesting as the two clear worst teams at present are Wolves and ourselves. Wolves are not panicking and have just given the manager a new contract despite losing their first five matches whilst we may look to replace very early.

I don't think throwing players who aren't ready into a losing team and a toxic atmosphere is useful experience, personally.
  • I wonder what the board want. Two games (apparently) he’s been given; Everton away & Arsenal away. The chances are we take 0 points from either; leaving us with 3 from 7. That would almost be insurmountable. Do they then sack him?

I look through the league & nearly every side is better than us. Leeds, Burnley, Wolves, Brentford are maybe the only candidates to be on our level.
  • @Lukerz, Lets hazard a guess what the board really want. Probably for GP to ask for a meeting and inform them he has realised he isn't up for the job and is going to walk away with no compensation. Siting amongst many reasons that he can't pick a team without JWP & Soucek in the starting line up and he let our best CDM leave on loan, but then I wake up. Is it true that DS wanted only to offer a six month contract to see if GP was going to be a good appointment but KB wanted it to be on a longer contract?

    Why would Luke know that?

For what it's worth, I read in a reputable source (*ie not a fan blog or forum) that they opened negotiations by offering a short contract initially but that he resisted. A compromise was reached.

GP doesn't walk away, citing failure to do a good job.

When Chelsea sacked him, he demanded a multi-million £ pay off plus a £200,000 per week (W-E-E-K) for 18 months. Which was, of course, less than he was entitled to under the full contract but ... you know ...

MrsG, Lukerz wondered what the board want so I gave a far fetched answer that what they would really want to happen. Hence the comment then I wake up.
My later point was a general question not directed at Lukerz which you have now kindly answered.
