Seems like a no brianer tbf he can play either flank, is a free transfer (which is key as we have no money this summer), is homegrown, has lot so experience but also in his peak years
The point is until players leave, they are our players. So there is no point saying we have a big/rough summer ahead. At the moment our (most experienced) starting 11 is:
It doesn’t matter how many leave, at the moment that is our 11. It’s not great but it’s not bad. We’d have to expect Potter to improve players. Until we start moving players on, there is really not much to be done apart from adding some youth to the side - which will also be cheaper if we decide to buy youth in.

We have 8 spots available, obviously don't need to have a full 25 but need more than 17 senior players
Also based off that XI our bench would be: Foderingham, Mavropanos, Scarles, JWP, Guido, Irving, Summerville, Guilherme and Potts
That's it, that bench is weak and that's not including any potential injuries which...because were west ham... will be considerable
Our midfield is pretty poor and very old, it needs legs and energy and these 2 could provide that
That "very old" thing always makes me smile
Gundogan is 34, Salah and De Bruyne 33 (so is Casemiro but...), Son 32, Kovacic 31, Bruno Fernandes 30, Rodri 29
Age isn't so important with the levels of fitness these days and youth is no match for quality in the top flight
Alvarez is 27, hardly ready for his Freedom Pass
City have spend £130mil on Gonzales (22), Cherli (21) and Reijnders (26) because of the drop off of Gundogan/KDB/Kovacic etc.
Liverpool bought Gravenberch (22), Mac Allister (24) and Szoboszlai (23) in a single window to repalce their midfield of Fabinho, Henderson ans Thiago who all dropped off around 30
Its not just the age, its energy and this midfield lacks energy...and no energy isnt fitness, it's show you get around the pitch and how you engage and press
We need new legs, legs to provide a spark and new impetus

"New legs" doesn't mercenarily mean "energy", "spark" or "Impetus", it could just mean inexperience

Nico Gonzalez made his first team debut when he was 19, he made 37 appearances for Barcelona, 26 for Valencia and 68 for FC Porto.
Cherki was just 16 when he made his first team debut for Lyon, 185 appearances including Champions League and Europa League. Supposedly the greatest talent ever produced by the Lyon youth system
Reijnders had 104 appearances for AC Milan and has 23 caps with Holland
I would keep him at 60m unless we have an agreed high end target ready to sign. He didn't have the best season but the whole season was a mess from start to finish. He is however what we need in a forward moving winger/midfielder who has pace.
Unless there is an exceptional offer or we know we can spend the money better on a ready target I would be hoping he can have good season for us and for him use it to get the big move he would probably like. Spurs may have slipped into the Champions League but they are not a big club at present and need rebuilding.
I’m not sure it works like that. Owners can put money in by buying shares in the club to mitigate the profit and loss limits but as they own most of them then that seems a limited option. We are not in a position to do things like selling assets to sister companies etc as Chelsea and Villa have done with their women’s teams and Chelsea with hotels etc. Chelsea sold their women’s team for £200M.
West Ham had a proposal rejected in the recent days for El Hadji Malick Diouf worth around €20m. SK Slavia Prague value the player at higher price with more clubs keen on signing him.

He played well in the recent international against England.
We've confirmed the signing of Daniel Cummings, but, given that he was only playing in the Celtic second team, I suspect this is more for the U21s this season:
Would be great if he's a genuine addition to the first team squad, but an enormous step up from the Lowland League to the Premier League; can't see it happening this season tbh. The article on the OS even says he "will this week join up with Mark Robson’s Academy U21 development squad for pre-season training".

5, LB: Scarles *U21
6, CB: Mavropanos

8, CB: Kilman
9, CM: Soucek
10, CM: JWP
11, CM: Alvarez
12, CM: Guido
13, CM: Irving
14, AM: Paqueta
15, WG: Summerville
16, WG: Kudus
17, WG: Bowen
18, WG: Guilherme* U21
19, ST: Fulkrug
Intentionally left out Cornet and Aguerd, just can't see them playing for us again
Also internationally left out the youth players who didnt feature last season, so no Earthy, Carey, Potts, Sywer etc.
So 19 players, 2 of whom are U21 so don't need registering (so 17)
Of the 17, 6 are homegrown and 11 are foreign, so we have 2 more HG spots and 6 non-HG without even looking at sales
Of that list it wouldn't be surprising to see 5 or so players leave....Kudus, Guido, Irving, Emerson and Soucek likely according to ""reports"
Gonna be a rough summer, club will have to get creative
Patrick Vieira is Genoa manager, took over in November when they were 17th, finished 13th
However Aguerd might be staying as C&H reckon we want £20m with Roma and Bayer Leverkusen both looking elsewhere
Reckons Marseille could be interested even though they've just signed Burnley's CB CJ Egan-Riley on a free
Areola
Wan-Bissaka - Todibo - Kilman - Emerson
Bowen - Álvarez - Souček - Paquetá
Kudus

£13om for those three seems an absolute bargain!
Spurs seem to be the only club interested as Chelsea have already signed Joao Pedro from Brighton and Jamie Gittens from Borussia Dortmund
Also Tammy Abraham is going to join Besiktas (managed by Ole Gunnar Solskjaer) so we definitely won't be signing him
