It will in my view bring Potters whole credibility into question should he let Soucek go. He is everything we need and one stat alone says we cannot afford to lose him. He scores goals and that is something everyone else aside from Bowen finds very difficult. We need players that can find the net and he consistently does so for a deep midfielder. Add to this his passion for the club and effort levels and he is not someone we can do without. As he does not want to leave I could not imagine a reason he would be sold.

I mean with Flekken going he’s guaranteed to be number 1, which is the reason he is leaving Liverpool. I’m sure if we were interested, the fact he would be competing to be number 1 may mean he ends up back on the bench as he was before. Or maybe we don’t want him or maybe we need to shift players on before we commit to that sort of signing?

Or maybe Potter thinks Areola is fine as our 1st choice keeper? Who knows…..⚒️⚒️⚒️

That’s possible, but personally that’d make Potter’s judgment pretty questionable in my mind.
According to one report yesterday, apart from the lad from Celtic it said Potter and the team will sit down to decide what we need and then prioritise. If that’s true then it’s pretty poor form not to have been doing this since January.
thorn, Liverpool have just won the EPL & are looking to make four signings before the window has even been opening for a week. We never appear to learn as most years we get left behind with other teams being far more proactive.
I’m,as ever, loving this thread already. Full of “why didn’t we get hims , we should’ve beens and we’re always lates” etc and it’s only early June. Please keep it up.👍

That could mean they already have their targets but will now prioritise which of them they will focus on, which might have been difficult without knowing who is coming or going for us, especially with a situation like Paqueta’s.
Worrying news; Teamtalk claim we've had talks with Ramsdale. One glimmer of hope I did read that Saints would like a season long loan as they're hoping to come straight back up next season
Talksport reckon we're after ex-Newcastle and Fulham 30yo CF Aleksandar Mitrovic along with Everton and Man Utd. Spent the last two seasons in Saudi
Armando Broja has gone back to Chelsea after Everton decided not to take up the option to buy at the end of his loan. How soon before we're linked?
United in focus reckon we tried to swap Kudus for Jadon Sancho, both players were open to the idea, United liked it but we decided against the deal
Joined on a free in January from Turkish club Something-spor, only made two appearances off the bench for a total of 11 minutes in February and hasn't been seen since
Chelsea have offered several players, most of whom are better than what we already have, to reduce the cost for Kudus but we aren’t interested. Why?
My guess would be wages being the issue (if true). I also don't think dewsbury-hall is the type of midfielder we need at the moment. We need an athletic midfielder. That should be a priority in my opinion.

Just guessing here.
Also, there's always the caveat that this is just reported information and we don't know what's actually happened.
Chalobah is better than Mavrapanos?
Dewsbury-Hall would improve our midfield?
Have to keep reminding myself not to take any notice of reports!
