Premier League Predictions - 23/24

Thought it would be interesting to get people's predictions for the upcoming season. Also an opportunity for us all to look stupid come May.

I'll go first:

Title winners: City
Top 4: City, Arsenal, Man Utd, Liverpool
Europa: Newcastle and Chelsea
Conference League: Villa
Relegated: Sheff Utd, Luton, Wolves
Top scorer: Haaland
West Ham finish: 10th

  • There is a predictor app I downloaded (https://apps.apple.com/app/id1639002980, for apple users) that you can basically predict the final league table in. I’ve set up a league for WHU606, so if anyone fancies doing their season predictions and joining the league in the app, the code is 67109.
  • Winners: City
    Top 4: Liverpool, Arsenal, Chelsea
    Europa: Man Utd & Newcastle
    Conference: Villa
    Relegated: Wolves, Sheffield Utd, Luton
    Top Scorer: Haaland
    West Ham: 12th
  • My hope is Arsenal win the title, City winning it for a fourth time in a row would be beyond tedious

Wolves look finished before the season starts, I just feel sorry for G O'N but he's walked into a burning building. I think Everton will struggle but pull off a great escape on the last day again

Other than that pick any two from Sheff Utd, Luton and Forest to join Wolves

We'll finish 8th or 9th and get Conference League again

  • We'll finish 8th or 9th and get Conference League again

Yes, but by winning Europa we will play champs league next season.

Yeah, Liverpool or Roma will win the Europa.

We'll win our group then get knocked out in the quarters or semis by a team that dropped down from the Champions League

    You said it 🤣🤣
  • I refuse to comment on the winners
Newcastle Arsenal + one of Man Utd or Chelsea
Liverpool Europa unless they sign a couple of DMs
    Haaland
West Ham 13th (and thats me being an optimist. Higher if we sack Moyes)
Luton Sheff Utd + no outstanding candidate
  • Man City
    Chelsea Newcastle Man U
    Arsenal Brighton
    Luton Sheffield United Forest
    Haaland
    12th
  • Although it's been inevitable for a while, we have our first official relegation today: Sheffield.

    Predicted by all.

  • Well done guys, we did it!
  • Everton secure safety.

Subject to an appeal blaming us for their disastrous season?
  • Or subject to what happens to the Everton and Forest appeals. Why on earth Everton appealed is beyond me as they were in all likelihood going to avoid relegation anyway so take it and get it over with.
  • At over £2m per league position prize money it's worth a punt.
  • At the risk of a bigger penalty
  • Never happen.
  • Burnley gone.

    Luton gone.

Teams that beat the drop.. Notts Forest on 29 (with one game to go). I wonder if that's te lowest stayer-upper ever. Must google it.

Others Brentford, Everton ... around the 40 point mark, so received wisdom says that's normal.

    It's a record.

I note we make that list. 35 points, with only 1 home win all season 2009/2010

  • We also top the chart with the most points to get relegated. We can never find a balance.
