  • You mean, just on basic points scored (not doubled)?
  • I'm going for all out attack next week - the battle for sixth at work is hotting up..

  • 4

Just on basic points scored, so had I have chosen the basic highest scorer each week I would be soooooooooooooooo much better off ;weep

    Me too .

I'm not even going to count the points I would have had. ;weep
  • captain = highest 6/32 After drugs testing, the score stays the same ;biggrin
  • I'd guess about 3M of us would be better off with choosing a different Captain most of those weeks ;doh

The fact is, over season, a large amount of luck or bad luck will influence our position.

You've pondered and studied. You have your favorites and those players who never do well for you. Your team looks kickass on screen and you're ready!

Then you're shiny new striker gets crocked after 12 minutes! Someone gets injured in training or on international duty. Another gets a virus, one gets malaria, inexplicably dropped, fights with the manager, gets red carded, another decides they'll go on strike to force a move to Marseilles! You name it and it can happen if you just happen to have the wrong player at the wrong time...

We all have our share of back luck no matter how well we plan (wildcards, chips, bazfers). Sometimes we get lucky and Mr anonymous all season on the bench bangs in a goal and an assist plus would never have got on the pitch if we didnt have an unexpected withdrawal as he was playing against Chelsea away. Who'd have thought it! Sometimes we can transfer in Mr on fire just before he gets really on fire. Unexpected goals assists, bonuses come up plus near escapes when you transfer Walcott out just before he's injured for 2 months

At the end of the day, you know you know what you're doing. You know who's good, bad and ugly. You know your knowledge is better than that guy in Singapore who inexplicably has more points than you. You just need that one season when you get the rub of the green more often than not...

Then you can ask others who's top of the league because your app is playing up

    ;lol ;clap ;wink
  • ;lol ;clap ;bowdown

I have gone back - a slow day waiting for my new job to be confirmed ;biggrin

I am a whopping 339 points worse off than had I chosen the highest basic points scorer in my team each week

And that on top of the 80 points I've lobbed away on unauthorised Bazfers

    ;weep ;weep ;weep
  • I'm genuinely not brave enough to check.

    ;sofa
  • On a serious note my app has been playing up. Who's top of head to head league?
  • I've been Bazfering players in and out so I havent noticed ;whistle Sorry I can't help, I'm sure some decent soul on the thread will though ;angel
  • Hammypoos

Me. My app shows that I am top of the head to head league ;angel ;biggrin

I'd suggest the recent update, Ham

    Fixed a few glitches

    naughty

They look the same to me ;whistle
  • Ok I get it. Nobody's writing on here because they're scared of the halo baby. If I could take it off the thread I would ;puzzled ;weep ;nonono

  • In other news, it was one of those balmy, wondrous, inexplicable fantasy days where Mrs Grey actually incurred a 4 point transfer penalty. Her family and close friends are keeping a bedside vigil just in case there are any side-effects ;pray
  • Fear not.

I am still myself ... as you see by my once again not giving the armband to my highest scorer.

Proof that my marbles are still safely in the marble tin.

    Yay.

Like you, I had to decide between Kane and Lukaku (we have same forward line, at least for this week til I TF hehe). It was a tough one. Lukaku in amazing form especially at home but Burnley pretty hard to break down. Kane just back from injury but looked ok last week and Spurs (unfortunately) playing like the best team in the country currently. So I picked Kane (he should've scored at least one more, missed a sitter but unlucky not to have another assist at least too) because I didnt think for a second Bournemouth would keep them out and would concede a few too.

My GFs team is ripping it up at the moment! I wanted to bring Baines back for today (after TFing Coleman recently) but couldnt afford him. So I brought in Jagielka for her (lol for me) despite him already scoring twice recently. That team can do no wrong and has zoomed up to 55,000 from nowhere in recent weeks. 86 points today and still has 3 players left to play!
