  • I prefer CBs to FBs personally. Get a few headed goals on the board.

I had Iheanacho in my team at first as well, but I've changed my mind.

At £50m, does Stones have to start? I'm not sure he'll start in the prem for City. Maybe in the CL?
  • Having said that, he's the same as Shawcross, who has let me down in recent seasons a little, despite my persistence in choosing him. Might put him in.
  • Imagine Stones will partner Kompany (if the latter's not injured) pretty much all season at £47.5m

    Doesn't score much though.
  • eski - whoever sets up a particular league has 'admin' privileges and can remove any player from that league.
How will you know if they're a site member or not to remove them?
    I can ask them. ;biggrin
  • eski's plans to sign up 278 of his mates to the league up in flames ;lol
  • I try to avoid CBs, their points rely on clean sheets so unless they score from a corner they won't get many points. FBs might at least get an assist.

That's my thinking too. Although when you check the scoring for last season, of the top 20 or so defenders, nearly half were CBs. ;hmm

You say that, but does MrsG want to ask 278 people if they're members? I think not.

    Good thinking Outcast ;thumbsup

Quick, to the tinker room ;run

True, but an assist is worth only 3 while a defender's goal is worth 6.

  • 3 cb's and 2 fb's ;fence
  • More regular though? A lot of FBs are up there on assists mostly. There are certain CBs who get a lot of goals, like Koscielny and Aderweireld, but they're more expensive. With CBs I think you have monitor which teams are doing well with getting clean sheets and then bring in their CBs, like the Leicester pair. They might not do it this year. Like Cresswell is in the top 20 but no other West Ham defender is.

I guess there's not much in it, I just found it was generally easier to go mostly go with FBs apart from a handful of CBs who do regularly score or are in teams with regular clean sheets.
  • Yes. No 'one size fits all' in this game. Gotta make it up as you go along. ;biggrin
  • It'll all about tinkering. The fullbacks who get points for assists don't tend to get too many points for clean sheets, so it's a balancing act. I would back the Manchester clubs to get a lot of clean sheets.
  • Some big hitters in your front row, there, alderz ;wahoo
  • Ald, in the whole 15, we only have 2 players the same! You usually beat me, so I'm just gonna go copy your team ;wink
  • I have 5 players alderz has. A 1/3 of his squad. Signs are good.

    ;wahoo
  • Ibra ;hmm

    Me too ;thumbsup
  • Ibra ;hmm

I think he'll end up not being vfm. ;hmm
  • Double ;wahoo

Steven Davis, who I put in my side, was meant to be my dark horse goal scoring midfielder.

So thought I better check the evidence.

9 goals in 135 games for Southampton. ;hmm

    ;run
  • ;lol

I have just checked my (current) team and realise that I have broken my own 'rules' in the case of 8 of my players ;doh
  • I will be gobsmacked if Zlatan doesn't get 15+ goals, and not at all surprised if he's golden boot winner, tbh.
  • I wouldn't copy Alderz. He'll brag about winning for half a season and then stop posting on this site for the next year when he falls into obscurity.
  • Just entered the head to head league ;ok

Suz... 'Kids Medium Athletic' ;lol ;clap
  • Should have been Athletic Kids Medium ;whistle
