    Looks like 4 subs for us.

    Solomon on, Taty on, Bowen on, Engels on.

    Ajala off, Piroe off, Lamadrid off, Kante off (I think).

    I don’t completely agree or disagree. The 4-4-2 is really effective for us, but only if we have an effective pair up front. It works if Pablo’s there, but if he’s not it falls apart a bit.

    Also, Mukasa played pretty close to Piroe for most of the night.

    There were some performances tonight worthy of keeping their shirt V Watford IMO, Veltman & Mukasa IMO.........

    4-3-3 is much more comfortable for us. It makes us better defensively and on the counter attack

    I think some or these have shown they have things to offer - Golambeckis, Mayers, Ajala - it doesn’t mean we don’t still need signings, but they can certainly be part of the squad based on that showing.

    Kanté, Orford, Mukasa - these three will play the most minutes this season. Not yet sure on Lamadrid.

    Veltman & Orford really impressed me. Piroe I thought was decent. The four subs just raised our class a couple of levels; Engels didn’t lose the ball, Solomon gave them something to think about & the attitude of Bowen & Taty was different class.

    All after going 1-0 down.

    Nice result and a good overall performance to boot, some real positives to take from this one, Ajala, Veltman, Golambeckis and Orford all caught the eye.

    Herrick, Kante and Lamadrid also caught the eye but not in a good way.

    Let’s keep the momentum up against Watford

    Whilst I agree it can work with Pablo in the PL, I actually think it won’t work in the Championship.
    He also doesn’t offer (as yet) a goal threat. So whilst he may work hard & get the system operational, he doesn’t score. I am not sure that justifies persisting. Most teams at this level play a variation of 4-3-3 & I think we need to as well, for now.

    I think the side he played for the final 30 will be the first 11 Saturday (minus Herrick).

    Honestly all the teams in the Championship are 😉 but some have a better chance due to their squads we will find out on September 2 who they are 👍.

    I think that’s a fair enough opinion, I just don’t think I share it yet. If we start playing a 4-4-1-1 / 4-3-3 type thing and look good then I’ll happily see Pablo on the bench all season. But I would say today is the first time I’ve seen us play well without Pablo on the pitch since he joined.
