Today was Forest’s first win in 8 and Spurs haven’t won in the league this calendar year. Bizarrely they got late draws against City and Liverpool or they would now be below us. I agree we now have some winnable games to come but all games are winnable and that’s what we find difficult. We probably need to win at least 3 if not 4 of our last 6 (Arsenal is probably gone) and we rarely put a run of 2 together so a scary time to come.
Just got to focus on our own results, today the result and performance were not great by any means....Still 7 games to play, we need Summerville back, and IMO I would not risk him in the Cup, I know others would disagree, but as said before the cup I couldn't care a less about, it's all about PL survival for me..... Not worth doing a MOM today, Mavro by a mile.....
When there were 11 games to go the super computer, for what it’s worth, predicted we’d win 4, draw 4 and lose 3. My guess is the three losses would be Liverpool, City and Arsenal. We got a point against City and that probably countered a predicted draw at Villa so still on target for the predicted 16 points from 11 games. I’m sure the computer will change its predictions for our final 7 games especially if it saw today.
@Jorderz, I did watch the whole of our game. We weren't on it for large parts of the it & yes I did have hope that due to our position in the league we would play in a more positive way and with a greater tempo. No I don't expect us to go unbeaten until the end of the season, we need to try to win games, and I had hoped we could draw today.
Our next four matches are all winnable, of course we wont win them all but there are definitely points to be had, the key will be Summerville being available. He represents the goals we will need. I just hope Spurs stick with Tudor as he may be as central to our hopes of staying up as Summerville.
Tbh, I've just accepted we're going down. A bonus is that I've stopped getting stressed and being grumpy with my wife who btw has got all the gardening work for the summer and autumn already sorted out.
Look at it from a Spurs perspective. One win in 14! Over the same time period we won 4 and also got a fair number of draws. The form table has Spurs rock bottom both across the past 6 and the past 10 games.
Well that wasn't what I expected. Villa played the perfect game, and we had no answer. VAR did it's job, , the ref was pretty good apart from his penalty clanger, and I hardly shouted at all because it was so one-sided. 🙄
What really annoys me is comments after the game by such as Bowen “for some reason we weren’t at the races in the first half”. Given the position we are in that’s totally unacceptable. We need to be at the races from first to last whistle then at least if we get beaten it’s because they were better on the day but we had a good go.
“We have to improve. I can’t keep repeating myself because today we lost individual battles and duels, we arrived late, we were not comfortable with the ball, so it’s worrying.”

@IronHerb, As I said yesterday it was more to do with the lack of urgency than losing a game most thought we would.

If they were capable of being at the races for the entirety of the game every week we wouldn't be where we are. We lost to a team that will qualify for the Champions League. It happens. We're 18th.
Still no excuse. To say we weren’t at the races implies they weren’t really up for it. That should be a given regardless of the league positions and regardless of each game. It’s their job and what they’re paid loads of money to do. They claim each week they’re working really hard in training and looking forward to the next game but when match day comes it goes out of the window. Mavro didn’t find it hard to put in a shift We could be “at the races” for every game and still lose as it doesn’t guarantee victory but not being “at the races” generally guarantees defeat. I don’t think many of us on here expected to win but I bet we all thought we’d give it a real go.

NES always calls it as it is, no flannel or excuses, as he did in the quote you use. We played our worst game since Wolves and lost. It happens but it's not the end of the road as some are calling it.
A thought (one of many ) that occurred to me after the first goal was why West Ham don't seem to score from set plays, or in fact, if they even have any. Villa's goal was straight off the training ground, yet we never see anything like it from West Ham, as far as I can remember.

We don't have a dedicated set piece coach, unlike some other clubs in the league (including Villa). Other to the Mavropanos goal against City I can't remember the the last set piece goal we scored.
I have two ways of looking at this, If we had lost to City and got a point at Villa I would have thought it a point won but after getting the point at city I was hoping for something from this match.
The bigger issue in looking forward is that we have lacked any real threat in both matches and I put that largely down to Summerville missing and Fernandes being pegged back by sides which have put us heavily on a defensive footing.

Just had to look at the respective benchs to see that. They had a wealth of riches compared to us.
I know who I am backing.
Just saying...

Anyway, we didn't lose because they didn't turn up. We lost because Herb started the thread when it was supposed to be ASLEF.
nychammer66 started the Brentford and City threads, it looks like they’ve been not on here since 16 March, hope they are ok
