The Great Escape project

I thought I would give our escape bid it's own thread. I fear with the current team and manager we are good enough to warrant our place in this league, but that sadly the damage may have already been done by Lopetgui and Potter, in managing and spending. I am still holding out some hope however and it's certainly not impossible as it stands today.

Next four matches for the teams concerned with relegation & current points

West Ham 23 - Man Utd, Bournemouth, Liverpool, Fulham

Forest 26 - Wolves, Liverpool, Brighton, Man City (They also have a two leg Euro tie)
Leeds 29 - Chelsea, Villa, Man City, Sunderland
Palace 29 - * Burnley. Wolves, Man Utd, Spurs ( They also have a two leg Euro Tie)
Spurs 29 - Newcastle, Arsenal, Fulham, Palace

*Palace play Brighton tomorrow

  • We have to play all the teams currently in the top 4, seven of our remaining fixtures are against sides in the top 8! Chelsea being the only one we have lost to twice already. There is hope but NES has to stop trying to defend when attack would be the better option he even tried it again today fortunately Burnley were poor opposition.
  • Plenty of noise out there re Palace but playing Brighton is always a spirited affair for them and I think we will have a much better idea of just how out of sorts they are after they have faced Wolves and Burnley
  • I’ve put this on a few threads already. Looking at the run in for Leeds, Forest and ourselves. IMO Leeds remaining games is horrendous and Forest isn’t much better. I feel that we’re in with a really good shout of keeping our premiership status as we did in 2007.
