    Have we signed anyone yet?

Apart from Cummings who doesn't join up until 1st July, and is more likely for the U21s anyway, with only a few minutes senior football for Celtic.

Surely that’s for the Summer Transfer Speculation thread. 😂
Indeed, but others seem to think we need 2 threads 🤷‍♂️.
  • Pacqueta inquiry completed but he’s been told expect a decision in 4 to 8 weeks.
  • Re playing style and coaching, I think the present coaches have improved the team. The players, even Kudus, seem comfortable playing in at least two systems each match. Under Lopetc they mostly looked baffled .
  • As expected, Ferguson and Soler have returned to their respective clubs after their loans, and, as we knew, Todibo met the obligation clause in his loan and is now signed permanently:

So Todibo joins permanently - although is rumoured to still be available for sale.

Aguerd is not returning to club, so likely to depart.

Kudus seems to be the available player to make funds off of, but want to stay in PL and/or have CL football.

Paquetá on hold until the summer due to outcome of spot-fixing case. Likely to leave if cleared.

Ferguson & Soler return to parent clubs.

No update as yet on Antonio.

Not quite, he's apparently been included in the latest Jamaica squad:

  • Emerson expected to leave this summer according to FabRom. Shame, as I feel he’s been a very consistent player but Potter seems to prefer Scarles or AWB at LB.
  • Since January there have been reports that he wants to go back to Italy with links to various Serie A clubs of which Lazio is the latest

He's only got a year left on his contract so cashing in on him now seems a better option than letting him walk on a free at the end of the season

I hope he does well wherever he ends up
  • C&H "told by a training ground source" that Freddie Potts will be part of the first team next season and they are prepared to consider offers for Andy Irving who wants more regular first-team football. Celtic interested

  • Areola
    Todibo - Kilman - Aguerd
    Wan-Bissaka - Álvarez - Souček - Diouf
    Bowen - Paquetá
    Füllkrug

    Current best 11?
  • Still be interesting to see what happens with Antonio.

Not really imo. He wasn't worth another contract before his accident. More than happy to let him continue to train with us if he wants to, and I believe we offered basically a pay-as-you-play type deal as an incentive, but he's finished at the top level imo.

  • I think I am hoping Aguerd stays as Todibo, Kilman and Aguerd is a lot better than Mavro being near the starting eleven.

I think it boils down to whether or not Potter can convince him, he may be swayed by a back 3, as he didn't seem to enjoy playing in a back 4 in the PL. After a good season away on loan though, it may be that he just wants away permanently, but, as always, the problem is getting a decent fee for him. However, if it's him that's pushing for a move, he might at least be prepared to drop his wage demands, as few clubs outside of the PL routinely pay what we do.

  • If El Hadji Malick Diouf does well and the fans take him to heart, I can hear the Eastendenders theme tune being sung " Diou Diouf Diouf ......... okay, I'll get my coat

I am not sure he will feature in the first few matches if he thinks he is only 50-60% at present but I am really hopeful this guy will be like a new signing and in moments he looked very good before getting injured. I imagine with Kudus gone he will get more opportunities now.

  • Todibo
    Diouf
    Walker-Peters

I think we need a GK, CM & ST still.
  • Antonio still listed as on the club website squad (which is up to date & includes Diouf & the youngsters such as Potts).

    🤔
  • The club website is still advertising tickets for yesterday's match.🤷‍♂️

Personally I wouldn't read too much into it given his unusual circumstances, I think it's just so we're not seen to be heartlessly discarding him after the accident. I'm sure he's still continuing his rehab despite his recent appearances for Jamaica, and he's doing that with us.
  • I’m pretty certain he’ll sign a short term deal with us

    So we currently have:

    Areola
    Wan-Bissaka - Todibo - Kilman - Diouf
    Souček - Álvarez - Paquetá
    Bowen - Füllkrug - Summerville

    Foderingham
    Walker-Peters - Mavropanos - Aguerd - Scarles
    Ward-Prowse - Rodríguez - Irving
    Guilherme - Marshall - Cornet

With Potts, Casey, Orford in reserve (Antonio possibly?).
  • I think we are shaping up more for 5 at the back.

Whatever the formation I would like a midfield player with more pace, another keeper and another striker.
