  • Wouldn't bother with man of the match this week IMO
  • I'd take Moyes back atm. The team seems in a right mess. Early I know but we cannot keep this manager (who has more or less picked the team he wants) stay or we will be relegated

    When did Irving come on?

    Ah, ok. 79 mins.

  • Good save that time by Fabianski.

    Replaced Emerson
  • I never wanted Moyes, BUT he outdid himself....I've said it before and I'll say it again, just not convinced AT ALL it will happen with J Lo....He was given so much money and he's making us look like a bunch of losers, very sad...
  • Fabianski saved the scoreline reaching 4,5.....
  • Another decent save by Fabianski right on the final whistle, 3-0 FT.
  • Polish commentator just said at the end that he was sorry to see such a waste of potential in Paquetá, considering Guardiola felt he had talent and skill worthy of Man City.

No words for that. Would’ve been same scoreline without the red. We were nowhere near the same postcode as them. Can’t see how he stays if we don’t beat Everton.

Recruitment has been appalling & coaching/management seem clueless.
  • It just seems like their is NO discipline WHATSOEVER, this is down to J Lo and his coaching team ...

Yeh Alvarez, Kudus, were stupid, brainless, but this is becoming a regular thing....

Sad, worrying times at our club IMO..

Teething problems, I don't think so....
  • Terrible game. Hard to understand the manager's team selection of tactics. Why was Summerville playing centre-forward in the first half? Why did he note play Antonio from the start or Soucek.

We are regularly letting in 3-4 goals and were lucky to get a win last week. In 10 EPL games we have only played well in the Ipswich game. We have gone backwards and will be fighting for survival unless manage is changed now. He has had 10 EPL and 2 FA Cup games to show his pedigree but hasn't shown much.
  • There is nothing I can say about that performance so I’m about to climb into a bottle of wine.

The main thing I have an issue with is not that it's not working but I can't see what we are trying to do. If someone told me this was Lopetgui's first job in football and he was a postman last week it would all make sense.

As for Alvarez that's two idiotic sending offs for the same thing, the guys a liability now and may have passed his medical upon signing but clearly no one checked his brain.
  • Well Eric Ten Hag is available .And i think Wayne Rooney will be soon as well .Or bring frank Lampard back to the club he loves =) =) =)

As mentioned earlier - Soucek is ill, and so not in the matchday squad.

Unless the manager nobbled him, I think this is one thing he's off the hook for :-)
  • I think we all accept that things take time (to a degree - Moyes turned us into a top 6 side within a year, from a bottom four side). But there is zero evidence of whatever we have been working on since July being implemented in any way shape or form. No cohesion, structure, organisation, constant changes to the side, no idea what the best 11 is. It’s an absolute mess.
  • We're so bad that I'd consider losing and only conceding one goal a sign of improvement. >:)

  • Ok, after the first glass of wine and shouting at the dog for an hour: for about ten minutes in the first half I thought we looked decent but after that I was watching from behind my hands.
Why are we so bad? This is no better than the last half of last season. I hate blaming managers and it’s still early but , as others have said, there seems to be no plan formulating. The new players ( apart from Kilman) have not improved us. Personally I would give the manager to the end of the season but I don’t think he’ll get that if there’s no improvement by the new year.
  • Agree totally with C&Bsky

I have no idea game by game what the plan is.

But today Alvarez had a shocker. Such a poor decision to make that tackle.

  • We’ve played nearly 30 league games in 2024 so far and have conceded more than 60 times which is a shameful record.

Another observation is that we seem to have a group of players now rather than a team, that was one of Moyes strengths that he always had a team.

    I think that’s just wrong.
Every team I’ve ever seen or played in wants to win for the team. Whether they’re good enough or not to do that is a different point.
I think that’s just a media soundbite tbh.

  • A draw would be a big result!

    Maybe next time...
  • A goal would be a big result
  • A goal would be a big result

Some may say we need a new striker? 🤪⚒️

"You may say I'm a dreamer But I'm not the only one.I hope someday you'll join us" (John Lennon, "Imagine").
  • Losing 3-0 to third place side, no shame in that…
  • Losing 3-0 to a side whose record signing Eliot Anderson £35m was on the bench, 2nd record signing Sangare £30m out with a hamstring, 3rd record signing Gibbs-White £25m started and 4th Ayoniwi £17m also on the bench

If they can beat us and be 3rd spending so little you have to ask questions

I think you have opened out my view to suggest that being described as a group of players may indicate a lack of the will to win for the team, but I haven't done that and I don't doubt each player in the group wants to win each game, my point is that team spirit is a variable, as no one would suggest any team as identical team spirit at all times, and my view was I am not sure we look to have the team spirit we have benefitted from recently, which even when out of form was never in doubt from my view.

I always felt Moyes created a great team spirit, helped by Noble initially and then Dec, and I am not sure we have that at present. A part of it would be very explainable in that we have a lot of new players who don't know each other so well yet, but it could be more and a result of a few things such as a new Captain, as they play a huge part in that respect, or it could be that Moyes was very good at that or even just the struggle to really get our season going isn't helping. But I respect if you don't see a change, or even that team spirit is not a variable in your view.
