Can see why Burnley are rooted to the bottom, this was a game that they had complete control of yet they took the foot off the pedal once ahead.
Credit must be given to the players today as they really did wake up and wrestle control away from Burnley after the penalty and fully deserved to get something out of the game.
The fact that it is three points on the road is quite the fantastic result COYI
Mubama added some intensity. Made a good run for the goal. He might not be able to press like that as a starter but he’s made a case to be the impact sub, I think.
Pre the 86th minute we were very poor and showed so little creativity against a very poor and physically weak looking Burnley side that should have represented some of the most available away points of the season. I expected more from Kudus in this fixture with us missing Bowen, and yet he offered little. Ings had his opportunity and may as well been sat on the bench and us play with ten, whilst Paquetta, who should have been our source of creativity continued to be wasteful when you needed him get the simple passes correct. JWP for someone who is a dead ball specialist is appearing very preictable regard near post corners and not providing what hoped from these dead balls. Maybe it's the loss of Dawson but we were more prolific from corners before he came.
Post 86th minute We needed someone make something happen and Kudus stepped up massively. There is a question over whether the first goal will be given to Mubama or an own goal, yet really it should be given to Kudus. Sometimes the provider performs such an act of brilliance that they should really get the goal (Paquetta in the final), and Kudus could have been given both today.
Mubama was a little quiet before the goal but he just looks like he is an attacker and will score goals, I hope we keep him. Soucek although given a pin point delivery plays like a really intelligent player and finds the space and that's why he gets on the score sheet. He is benefitting from Rice's departure as is clearly allowed to roam a little more again.
Did we deserve it? No Did we need it? definitely as the way we are playing points are going to be hard to come by.
I would be in favour of taking a chance on Mubama within these contract talks. We have gambled on two strikers from abroad and lost out, we need a new striker and I think if Mubama goes we need pay quite a fee for the next gamble. There is no fee for Mubama so lets give him more than we is possibly sensible and hope he can begin to step up.
It's a results game and we got the result, but till our 1st goal it was a really hard watch... I'm elated we won of course, but if anyone watched it they have to admit it wasn't a great watch.....
Burnley lost it more than we won it. Kompany must be fuming after the first 85 minutes that should have been the easiest 3 points at home they could have come by.
Honestly who cares about the performance? Two weeks of disrupted prep due to internationals. Players with various knocks. No Bowen. No Antonio. 3 points.

And another assist from Kudus
And my train is at Queensway

Not too shabby.

Also Ings should not start and Kudus was a steal.
I will take the win!
3 points behind Newcastle.
Ahead of Chelsea and Brentford.
Not bad at all considering we aren't playing great.
