Danny Ings has been given an injection in his injured knee to speed up his recovery. West Ham's new £15m striker suffered a painful whack barely 30 seconds into his debut on Saturday.

If this is when I think it was, the guy next to me joked "that's him injured then".
Thorn, it's possible it didn't swell up badly until afterwards.
From today's presser, suggesting Ings might not be out too long:
"Unfortunately Danny [Ings] has picked up an injury which was in the first 15 or 20 seconds [after he came on for his debut against Everton], and we don’t think it’s that bad.
He’d have been cup-tied this weekend anyway, so we have a little bit of grace with that and hopefully he’s not going to miss too much.
He’s had an injection in his knee and hopefully we will get himself ready to get back and ready to go quite quickly."
I always think it's interesting to get a behind the scenes view of what some players bring to the club, particularly when they're players that haven't necessarily set the world alight on the pitch.
“Yeah, buzzing to be back with him. He’s a great player, first and foremost. But what a guy as well.
“A character. He never fails to make you laugh. He’s kind of the heart and soul of any changing room I’ve been in, so I’ll say I’m buzzing to be back with him.”

72 hours at West Ham and he's out for weeks.
Irons.
If he’d played Ings from the start he wouldn’t have got injured late on would he?!!! Typical Safety Sam tactics!!
Someone, somewhere will be thinking that and very probably posting it.
