I think everyone can agree, with the hindsight of slow motion and freeze frames, that was probably dangerous play. Unfortunately the referee doesn't have those aids. I must admit when I first saw it in real time, I did not think it was a red card. I don't know what kind of view the ref or lineman had. However, as no red card was given, don't the powers that be have the option of going back and handing down a penalty as a retrospective action. Not that it helps us now.

The FA will only hand out retrospective penalties if the officials didn't see the incident and nothing was given. The ref saw it, awarded us a free kick and gave Foster a yellow card
