£30m, which is probably more than half of our budget, gets you Danny Drinkwater or, if rumours in January were to be believed, Tom Cairney.
We arguably need five players that can come straight into our starting eleven, which would equate to, what £80m-£100m if we want to move forward. We simply don't have that kind of money.
Reina, Fredericks and Wilshere are all free and would improve on our options in their respective positions, which means we could go (relatively) big on a CB and a DM, but as I said earlier, these free agents will probably have more attractive propositions than us.
I actually think Heaton is a good shout. There's no way he'll want to sit on the bench at this stage of his career, and Pope won't want to be a sub either now he's had a year in the first XI. I think it's realistic to think we could get Heaton for about £10m.
Ben Foster from WBA? Interesting timing that as WBA are relegated, West Ham announce they don't want Hart OR Adrian next season. Has a deal been done, or are the club messing things up again? ;hmm
Tom Heaton signed a four year deal in 2016 and Burnley are virtually guaranteed Europa League next season. Why on earth would he want to come to West Ham?
Ben Foster is 35, as a short term measure he'd be excellent but he can only have a few seasons left before he hangs up his gloves.

Being realistic and hoping our better players wish to stay we need. two keepers (hart and adrian not good enough for no 1 wont want to be no 2) left back to challenge cresswell (evra forget it) right back as zabaleta is getting on ( byram to lightweight) new centre back left side midfield all ok right side midfield someone to challenge antonio centre mid at least two (kouyate is done, fernades not good enough mario no) a new striker to compete with arnie and ac (noone will sign ac hernades wants out hugill forget it)
Think we should make a push for Romeu if Southampton go down...hes exactly what we need
26 so in the prime for a good few years, physically very strong, fantastic positional awareness, great reader of the game and while not Xabi Alonso he's composed on the ball and great at ticking over possession with simple but effective passing
Wouldn't be wrong going for Fredericks and Cairney who've we've been linked to often
Fredericks offers speed and energy, both of which we lack in this team and a huge upgrade over Byram who should be let go
Cairney is confident in his ability, great of the ball and imo an upgrade over Noble and could lighten the load on Lanzini who is our only playmaker in the team

Butland is more likely
