  • Who decided skinny jeans were ok?

Skinny distressed jeans are, apparently, OK. ;puzzled

My teenage students wouldn't be seen dead without them.

The shoes, though - sort of a cross between Chelsea boots and desert boots. ;hmm

  • What is going on with people? Who let him out? do they not know how fragile Andy is?

I just hope someone had the foresight to carry a ramp with them for the kerbs as if he steps down from a particularly steep one, that's him out another 2 weeks.

  • If sine chinese club was offering 32m for Andy Carroll. We would be insane not to take that.
  • Paul Koncesky has signed as player manager for Billericay Town my local club ;wahoo

It's a small world "Pearces", Billericay is my local club as well.

If AC doesn't want to go then it doesn't matter how much they offer he won't be going. His kid's not two years old yet and I don't see Billi Mucklow being keen on swapping Chigwell for China.

We accepted a £10m offer for Scott Parker from Fenerbahce, how did that work out?

And what if AC wasn't interested? You can't muller Payet for demanding to go then insist AC, or anyone else for that matter, has to leave for China.
  • ASLEF ;ok

All it would do is send a message to Carroll that we don't want him.

  • It's a small world "Pearces", Billericay is my local club as well.

I used to go all the time was there when they go promoted to conference south away at Margate and when they lost the play off final on penalties. Went to Grays away a couple of weeks back when there was no football. New chairman is putting some money in the old chairman was a Spurs fan !

  • Accepting an offer and him saying he doesn't want to go are different things. No problem accepting an offer of 32m for a player with an injury record like his and a return on investment of over 15m+. If he doesn't want to go then it goes no further.
If AC feels we don't want him by accepting a 32m offer then so be it.
  • Vorse
Pink boots are bsad.. fixed it for ya ;biggrin
  • I have had the occasional Pink shirt but yeah Pink Boots are a step too far for me...
  • Think we're overthinking this.

    From Slav's presser:

“It’s certainly not the Club that has asked an agent to try and sell him. That’s not the case. I suppose Andy would have been flattered as it’s nice that people have a good opinion of you, but me and him didn’t talk about it at all.

“We haven’t been bombed with offers from China, so it hasn’t affected me or Andy.

“It wasn’t like we had three or four offers for our players from China. I heard the rumours and saw it in the papers but it didn’t affect any relationships with the players or with Andy, so that’s it basically. There is nothing to talk about there.”

We didn't want to sell him; he didn't ask to go. There weren't any offers.
  • That's what they all say. ;biggrin

I used to work next to the Red Lion ;biggrin
  • I used to work in the Nat West in the High Street many, many moons ago and got drunk in the Red Lion often . I also took my now wife on our first date to the Red Lion.

It doesn't say they didn't receive any offers, just that they were not bombed with them. 1 Chinese club may have come in for him but was turned away.
  • If he goes on a run Everton will buy him. That was part of the loan deal.
  • edited March 2017
Going on a run is what he is go at staying on his feet is the problem....
  • That was Valencia's 2nd goal, he scored his first against Saints at the beginning of January, he started the following game against Leicester in the Cup, was left kicking his heels on the bench for five games and has come on as a substitute for the last three games.

If Koeman thought he had more to offer he'd be playing a far bigger part by now, with only two months left in the season he's well down the pecking order behind Barkley, Mirallas, Davies and Lookman.
  • I agree. Up to a point. Although managers often prefer (all other things being equal) to play their own players rather than loanees, which could be a factor.
  • Don't think we'll be getting that £14mil for him......

I think hes gone, especially as Slav likes to play 1 up top and Valencia is neither a lone front man or a winger

Hope we can flog him in the summer for a decent fee
  • Any fee would be a win in my book. Even a swap for some nets or corner flags would be a result.
  • But we don't need corner flags the taxpayers get them for us ;lol
  • WHU_Champo - Valencia is a winger. He played purely as a winger through his youth and for his first club Emelec, then was tried as a striker by his international manager after their main striker died in 2013. He was subsequently played up top by his second team Pachuca for one season before we bought him July 2014.

I like him as a player when he's on form and confident as he is very direct and can hit the ball extremely hard with little backlift. I like that he's unpredictable, quick, and can run with the ball well. Unfortunately, he is inconsistent and is physically a little weak getting pushed off the ball too easy, and his football brain sometimes speaks English; thinks Spanish; yet tries to read a Dutch manual. I still feel if he bulked up a little bit and upped his consistency he could be a useful player for us, predominately LW of a 4;2;3;1 cutting in and pinging it with his right. However I will trust Slav's judgement if he cashes in in the summer.
  • Moore_than - didn't see your message until after I posted: I agree that its hard for him to get into an Everton team that is currently playing well and that have a wealth of options in attacking positions. Of course as they are playing well, they will always pick permanent players over loanees. ;ok
  • Manchester City defender Bacary Sagna, 34, is looking at a return to London, with West Ham manager Slaven Bilic hoping to sign the Frenchman on a free transfer. (Sun)
