  • Oh no, the umpire takes ages before raising his finger to an lbw appeal, I fear umpire's call will be huge here, and it is, just a sliver of wicket being hit.
  • Overton gone now too

Overton gone now. That was a dodgy umpires call but England paying for all those dropped catches.
  • Overton gone, 20 runs required, India need just 2 wickets and that includes the one armed Chris Woakes.
  • No way, umpire gives Tongue lbw, looks a marginal decision at best.
  • Shocking decision thankfully overturned on review. Cost us a leg bye.
  • Tongue gone, and still 17 needed as Woakes comes to the crease.
  • Tongue gone game over. Those 28 we needed were the 3 sixes Washington clobbered in one over.
  • Oh my, he literally only has one arm, the other is in a sling inside his jumper.
  • He's just going to have to try and block his way through
  • Atkinson dropped on the boundary and it goes for 6, 11 needed.

Surely they do everything to ensure he doesn't face a ball, having to run on the 6th ball of ever over regardless. India should have a fielder right by the stumps.
  • You'd think so
  • Blimey
  • Woakes manages to run 2, but is in a lot of pain just running. 8 needed.
  • How on earth have we got the single again
  • Atkinson takes a single off the 6th ball and keeps Woakes off strike, 7 needed.
  • And he's gone. Big effort.

    Bowled next ball. Series tied
  • Atkinson bowled, we lose by 6 runs. Gutted.
  • Tongue gone game over. Those 28 we needed were the 3 sixes Washington clobbered in one over.

I thought you said it was the six dropped catches.
  • The six dropped catches cost us a lot of runs, over a hundred, and ultimately the match but their 10th wicket put on 49 including 5 sixes as we exerted no pressure so when we were down to 27 and then 18 to win we wouldn’t have needed them. I think England get a bit arrogant in feeling that they’ll chase down whatever they’re set regardless.
In any case 2-2 was a fair reflection on the series.
  • Thought that the Overton lbw decision was poor from the umpire and possibly cost England the win.

Not sure how you can say that without questioning all DRS lbw decisions.

From what I saw with ball tracking the ball barely shaved the stump and I doubt it would have dislodged the bail.
Every other lbw appeal that was reviewed (at least those that I saw) showed the ball hitting at least enough to have done so.
The umpire up until that decision had been very good with the 50/50 calls so it was a surprise that he gave Overton out.
Anyway, all IMO, assuming of course I'm allowed an opinion.
  • Of course you're allowed an opinion. What an odd comment.
