    We have 2 in each position.

    We have Hendrie on loan at Blackburn as LB. We have Ogbonna who can play LB.

    Slav clearly sees Antonio as a RB, so we have him and Brian. Pretty sure Norty boy can also play there.

    So IMO we can either adjust the system to compensate any period of absence (3 at the back) , promote from within (Page), or try to kill 2 birds with one stone and sign a player who can play LB but also in another area we need anyway-for example RB, such as Matteo Darmian from MUFC who can play on both sides and when cresswell is back Darmian would most likely be 1st choice RB.

    Darmian was rubbish last season wherever he played. That's a no from me

    No we can't play half the season with someone who is more naturally accustomed to being a c/b (Ogbonna). A few games, fair enough, but not half a season. Not least because if Nordveldt needs to fill in at C/b then once again we have no proper d/m (which IMO was one of the main reasons for us shipping so many last season). So if we are not going to buy, it HAS to be Lewis page for me. He needs to play as often as possible, incl the Europa games to see how he gets on. If he doesn't seem up to it, the Dave's can always go scouring around on deadline day.

    Probably be a day or two for the scan and results + meeting with the specialist for a prognosis. Hope it's not too bad but at least we find out while the window is open and before the season starts.

    Does anyone know the rules about recalling Hendrie. Do we even have the option?

    Grey, I'm sure all of that will come out if it ends up being a serious one. In the meantime, full steam ahead with Lewis IMO!!

    No, we can't because he'll play there for a while, Slav will get in an upgraded c/b, Oggy will will find himself on the bench once Cressers returns, will get frustrated, and will end up being sold to Palace

    You cant have it both ways. Firstly Oghi is our best CB and wont be replaced and sevojdly what about all thiis give youth a chance when we have Burke and Oxford not to mention Ginge

    Think a lot is going to depend on who's match fit come the first game of the season

    Payet, Ogbonna & Collins haven't had a pre-season and at leaSt the first 2 are key players in our XI

    Page will be fine for the Domzale games. But we would want to protect him against Chelsea. Would be pretty concerned if he was in our starting XI at Stamford Bridge. Tbh would be concerned if Ogbonna or Byram were at LB too. If Cresswell is out half the season, we need a new LB. Robbie Brady would be a nailed on signing.

    The blow though is that we're losing the best LB in the league and one of our best players. It'll massively impact our season.

    While I like Brady as well but heard values upwards of £10mil which seems steep given he will surely move to the bench once Cresswell returns

    Might be a bit tricky given Boro got promoted but maybe George Friend is worth a punt.
    Slightly older and slightly cheaper should offer good experiance and will enjoy the wage boost he'll get at us

    Like that we were linked with Rico Henry but I don't see what he can do that Page can't
    Just wish we'd give a couple youth lads a chance to impress got some real talent we have
