Farewell Ben & Saïd

edited June 30 in Completed Transfers

I think this deserves its own thread after Ben Johnson’s 17 years at West Ham & Benrahma’s involvement in our first major trophy win in over 40 years.

Ben leaves the club as a free agent, with his contract expiring tonight. Possible destination seems to be Ipswich Town.

Saïd joins Lyon on a permanent deal after spending the latter half of the season on loan there (a rumoured fee of around £17m including the original loan fee).

As a side note, Mubama also departs as a free agent.

Good luck to all three.

  • Benni certainly had his moments, especially that penalty 👏
Ben was right back when our defence was strongest. I think he'll star at Ipswich, possibly in midfield 👏
Divin has bags of talent. His day will come.
Good luck to all three, and sorry to see the last two leave.
  • Good luck to the 3 of them, all players with talent and ability and sure they'll have successful spells

Seems that for all 3 of them, leaving the club suited both them and ourselves.
