Sparta Prague fans in comments on tweets about the new investor and specifically this idea of them becoming a feeder club for us weren't very impressed with him. Said they'd gone backwards under his leadership and they'd be happy to see him focus somewhere else. Obviously just a few people on Twitter, so not sure how much we can take from that but it sounded a lot like Birmingham fans when G and S took over. Though he is richer than them, his wealth is not much different to a lot of other premier league clubs and he has his hands in quite a few pots.
Kretínsky has been president of Sparta Prague since 2004 but he is not majority shareholder
According to those people he is the face of the ownership though. The other 60% is owned by the company he started his career with and launched the investment company he now almost completely owns.
J&T was founded in 1993 by Ivan Jakabovic, currently General Manager and co-deputy chairman, and Patrik Tkac, also co-deputy chairman. Jozef Tkac, Patrik's father, is Chairman.
Kretínsky joined J&T in 1999, was made a partner in 2003, co-founded EP with Patrick Tkac in 2009 and ceased to be a J&T partner in 2011.
There are numerous subsidiaries of J&T and EP with a lot of trading between the various parties so its not easy to work out just who owns what!
Yes, I don't think he's a majority holder - or it's not clear - but it's not a matter of he holds a minority share and the majority is held by a completely separate entity. He has very close links to them.
90 mins claims that the sale of shares to Kretinsky needs government approval because of the clause in the stadium leasing agreement that the LLDC should get a cut of any profit from the sale of shares before March 2023
There's a little thing called Capital Gains Tax which they will be liable for at any stage of the sale. The question is whether the 'windfall' style tax that was rumoured to exist applies or not.
Looks good but I also hope he gets the same scrutiny as PAI if/when he tries to increase his share. They seemed so bad that this guy looks great in comparison but I think healthy to be sceptical of any potential takeover.

Not really what you expect from a football podcast at all.
Thanks for posting.👍

He's also the club's chairman.
J&T is the majority share holder of Sparta Prague, the deputy chairman of J&T is the minority shareholder of EPH
Hope that's clears things up a bit

C&H say an "insider" told them this is not the case

The stadium is owned by the GLA/Mayor not the government so looks as if 90 mins have got a bit confused
