It's supposedly based on the away shirts Arsenal wore to win the double in '71 and the final game of 88/89 although those were a deeper yellow.

Adidas describe it as "Pearl Citrine"

Less "citrine", more "urine".

I think that club have deliberately bad kits every year for publicity, so the players know what they’re getting into
