The view from behind the goal from the North Bank in the sixties
Oldish and myself are quite possibly in that picture as we both discovered we stood on the extra big step behind the goal about half way up.
An empty North Bank
the letters by the goal were there to check the half time scores in the programme against other games being played which was only on Saturday at 3 o'clock
Cheers or Boos went up when the chaps put the scores up, there were no such things as transistor radios then.
I use to stand at the top of the South Bank, normally on the 3rd /4th step right centre of goal and we sung our hearts out as well as taunting the away supporters.
