  • Article 82 states that if a team "leaves the ground before the regular end of the match without the authorisation of the referee", they are eliminated.

Appears quite straight forward or is it just me?

    Did they leave the ground?

But the game was concluded.Senegal returned to the pitch to complete the match.

"The players later returned and Diaz missed the penalty, aiming a Panenka attempt straight at the goalkeeper. With the game tied at 0-0, the contest went into extra time where Papa Gueye broke the deadlock to seal the win for Senegal."

    So probably just you.
  • I checked the scores tonight, half time Barca 3-2 Newcastle.

Made my dinner, came back, it's 7-2 . 4 goals in 10 mins.

Are they sure all the Newcastle players found their way out of the dressing room? :p
  • Currently Barca 7-2 Newcastle. I feel this could be the beginning of the end for Howe.
  • Thank you Ironherb , me and the body who have awarded the ANC to Morocco. 😄
  • Its disgraceful decision.
  • At no point have I said I think it's the right decision as it would be like going back to reverse a decision after the game has concluded when it's proved the referee made the wrong call. How many of those would we have?
  • Apart from Arsenal none of our teams have got within 3 of their opponents.

If you're on about Champions League, Liverpool are currently winning 1-0 tonight and are level on aggregate with Galatasaray.
  • I made that comment before the 8 pm kick offs.
  • Why didn’t Liverpool play like this on Sunday.
  • Because they weren't playing Galatasary.
  • Doesn’t matter who they were playing tonight because if they’d applied half the effort Sunday of tonight they’d had stuffed spurs rather than helped to kick start their relegation battle.
  • Senegal are appealing the decision to the Court of Arbitration for Sport, quoting Article 5.2 of the IFAB’s laws of the game

"The decisions of the referee regarding facts connected with play, including whether or not a goal is scored and the result of the match, are final. The decisions of the referee, and all other match officials, must always be respected"

    https://www.theifab.com/laws/latest/the-referee/#the-authority-of-the-referee

The referee could have applied Article 82 and awarded the match to Morocco but didn't. It's not for CAF or anyone else to overturn the referee's decision

I might have more sympathy for Morocco if it weren't for the fairly blatant "home team" bias or if they hadn't been playing dirty tricks like the ball boys and subs trying to steal the Senegalese goalkeeper's towel (it was raining)
  • The whole thing is ridiculous - I agree that Senegal risked forfeiting the game on the night but to overturn the result months afterwards is truly farcical

Villa play later this evening. Obviously wouldn't wish anyone to get injured, but wouldn't be too upset if a couple of their players have niggles this evening which mean they have to miss Sunday's game.

Forest also playing, although they trail 1-0 from their home leg against Midtjylland so need a result away this evening. Mixed feelings on this, as I genuinely think they are the club we have most chance of overtaking as much as I'd obviously prefer Spurs to go down, but I just don't see that happening. So do I want Forest to progress in the Europa to give them extra games to play, or will they get a lift that translates to their PL form if they do go through?
  • I am really hoping Forest can get through as I would really like them to have at least two more matches to have to play.

Currently 2-2 on aggregate with 3 mins of normal time to play, having taken a 0-2 lead on the night but then conceding to leave things all square atm.

  • After Forest beat Fenerbache they have not won in the following six games.
  • Forest players must be tired- shame" Extra time and penalties😂😂
  • ScotHammer, That can only be of a benefit to you know who on Sunday?

I’m thinking who may be more likely to go down. At the end of the day I like West Ham more than I hate anyone else. ⚒
  • Spurs keeper Vicario has hernia surgery after the Forest match and Kinsky comes in again once he leaves for hospital, that can't fill Spurs fans with much confidence for the run in.

    They haven't played Forest yet...
  • He’s having the surgery after the Forest game, and it’s a minor surgery. They’re doing it so he misses the international break
  • Everton 2-0 up. Sanchez woeful. Moyes delighted.
  • Moyes doing it again

Still happy about Moyes leaving boys ( and girls)?
