  • A deserved point. Fought back well though lacked a cutting edge. Wilson was very quiet. Whatever the tactical plan Soucek was wasted on the right-wing. Who will make way for Paqueta and Summerville.
  • Good point ,Will have to change a few for sunday ,No way Wilson can play ,And hope Bowen shakes off all those kicks he took

lol bro comes on and scores with his first kick

    Wrong guy

    Wrong guy bro

  • AWB & Magassa best two players, then Bowen

Defence was fairly solid & the goal they scored was slightly fortunate

Disappointed with Diouf, Fernandes & Souček

Love Soucek hanging around after being subbed to watch the corner & joining in the celebrations, a real trooper, Soucek 🇨🇿⚒️
Must also say, Bowen really speaks well in the post match interview with. The MOM Magassa…
  • Magassa, I hope, a solid player for the future.

    Did so well tonight.
    CB and DM
Still very young for a PL defender.

Watching their goal again, Fernandes slightly turned his back but Potts ducked under the ball when he could easily have headed it away on its way to Dalot.
  • The Manchester United fan :p Rio Ferdinand was just over 19 when he made his England debut and only 17 when he first appeared for us.

It was because of him that Heaven got a yellow and was subbed at half time.

Having said that, our defence was totally on it tonight.
  • I thought the ref had a great game. I got worried when the commentator said it was only his fifth match as I thought Old Trafford may bring out the worst in him. I thought he had a great game. I would have given the Tobido challenge as a pen every time on first look, yet he didn't even need VAR. I generally think our officiating is poor considering we have VAR now and I give it an overall 5-6, when with VAR assisting now it should be 8-9. This guy was a solid 8, with possibly his only blemish that he could have sent of AWB for a second yellow and perhaps let himself off the decision as he had played the advantage.
  • Mavropanos and Todibo seem to be forming a better partnership than either of them had with Kilman. I thought Magassa was all over the place tonight……and he scored! 😀⚒

Hoping Herb is there doing his bit.

🙋‍♂️ I am / was MrsG. “Billy Bonds claret and blue army” had a good airing tonight, and rightly so. ⚒

Considering most would have predicted 3 points from those games I think there is plenty to be upbeat about.
  • There was a lot to like about that performance but also some sobering realisations.

Nuno is doing a good job in getting that team to even have a fighting chance of staying up as it is frightfully low on quality. We often get criticised as a club for not planning ahead but Lopetgui and Potter did just that in putting together a team which could certainly be expected to be around the play off positions in the Championship, the problem was they were expected to build a Premier league side. Joking aside we have good fight and team togetherness and that will be essential in the coming months and with a couple of good loans in January and we could scrape it.

Wan-Bisaka was great in the first half and good overall, Magassa is improving with each match and I was delighted to see how much it meant to him to score, Tobido was a revelation and had his best game this season in my book.

We need a striker and a driving midfielder with strength in January, the two perfect choices would be Conor Gallagher and Ivan Toney but I guess one is pretty unlikely and the other extremely unlikely, but that would make us a different side. If there was a CB available as well that would give us a great chance.
  • Magassa numbers tonight -
    70 touches
    11 duels won [most]
    8 ball recoveries [=most]
    5 interceptions [most]
    4 tackles won [=most]
    4 fouls won
    1 goal

    👏👏👏
  • Magassa was fantastic. You could sense his confidence growing in the second half and the goal was so deserved. It was his aggression that broke up their little confident spell after they scored.
  • Missed the game live so enjoyed the luxury of watching it not knowing the score but unfortunately I did know the result….

Knowing we got a point took out a lot of angst when we were still 1 down late on.

All in all I think that was a solid deserved point…any point away at Old Trafford is precious, a string of strong performances throughout the team.

I was disappointed to see Killman come on to try and secure the point at the end, once we equalized it looked like we had momentum but imo, setting ourselves up to secure the point, immediately took the wind out of our sails and gave the initiative to them.

    Very happy with the point
  • It will be interesting to see what he does with Paqueta for Sunday's game, who would he drop ? Soucek ? ( Thought he actually put in a shift last night ).....
  • Just to say, we're 10th in the form table. I know Leeds beat Chelsea, but that's their only points in the last five games. We've got a positive goal difference over the last 5. And the commentator on my stream said we've only conceded 3 set piece goals since Nuno came in, which suggests he's writing the wrongs of the Potter era, slowly but surely.

  • Yes, important for perspective. I still worry we aren’t getting enough wins - but we seem to be slowly & steadily making small steps of progress. I think we need to get another result at Brighton, a defeat sets us back again. I wonder if we can actually win the game.
  • Most importantly, a pint was rescued! 🍺
  • Probably a few hit the deck when Magassa scored.
  • I'm looking forward to watching this when I get back...but we may have lost to Brighton by then 🤫
  • Magassa was outstanding, his reading of the game. He looked a little headless chicken against Liverpool but he was so mature & composed yesterday. Deserved his goal.
  • So since turning up, Nuno has decided he doesn’t like: JWP, Igor, Füllkrug, Guilherme. Going to be a busy Jan window.
  • Guillherme is a talent.

    He needs a run
  • About time ASLEF started the Brighton match thread methinks.
