That was a huge performance. With the pressure the players were under they showed real character, and what it meant to each player and Nuno was evident.
Soucek up front was something I never expected but I don't think he was anymore out of place than many we have paid big money for in that position, and did get a goal.
Potts was great and does not look out of place in the first team and for me should be starting each match now. Fernades offers something and Summerville is just waiting to take a team apart sooner or later.
It's hard to feel to optimistic after our start to the season but today showed we do have the ability to get a result, if we can manage another against Burnley next we will put ourselves in a much better place.
So we now have Todibo at left and Kilman at right CB
As I didn't see the game ,I'm going back and looking at comments. I'm sure Kilman played on the right at Wolves. He certainly played on the right of their back three. I always thought it was odd because every team seems to be desperate for left footed centre backs.
Sitting here in the happy afterglow and reflecting that the scoreline, despite the gift of the second goal was in no way flattering….we hit the post twice, had a penalty award overturned, a goal disallowed for being fractionally offside and their keeper pulled off a couple of decent saves….happy afterglow indeed.
So many strong performances but Potts and Fernandes in midfield were standouts and Paqueta squashed my initial doubts and for me was MOTM - I was little worried that he was starting deeper than normal knowing how casual he can sometimes be in possession.
There is a frustration in that I feel had we started that side in the last two matches we could have different score lines. Nuno is the manager and he is entitled to experiment but the Scarles and Irving calls were just so unlikely to pay off, paqueta looked so much better deeper yet was forced up top whilst Wilson sat on the bench, we could have let two very winnable matches get wasted.
At least Nuno seems to be catching up now, next game we will have Walker Peters as a centre forward target man and fire crosses for him to head.
Great result yesterday. I thought Tidibo actually looked like a centre back. Potts and Fernandez worked brilliantly together. Areola pulled off a few good saves. Paqueta looked like the player City wanted to sign for 80 million quid. All in all a great performance all round.
It's been like a jigsaw puzzle over the last few games, you have some of the pieces in place but can't see what it is then you put the last pieces in and the whole picture becomes clear

Potts looked very good and Paqueta looked like the guy who starts for Brazil.

I thought we were excellent today.

I've had 23 hours between shifts...
