The commentator on my stream said Fullkrug “rolling around” got Tarkowski booked, and then when Magassa won the ball said it looked like a yellow card to him 🤨
Magassa looks like a player. We actually look okay, as we did against Spurs and Palace. But if we can’t defend corners and crosses we’re going to keep losing.
I feel we just have very cowardly or unbothered CBs. How I miss Dawson and Collins and Winston Reid. Even Kurt ‘one-knee’ Zouma.
There were flashes, but when you have CBs who don’t do the basics of defending &, as a side, we are so awful at it, it undoes all the good work we may do.
In truth I do not think that was a terrible half and I disagree with the coms that Everton dominated, the fact is that Everton created little and the goal was primarily a result of our defence just losing concentration, Mavro should have been much closer to his man there but in this league, you get punished.
To be fair, we have not created anything of note either, Fullkrug has had a couple of half chances and given the ball away cheaply and Paq has made a couple of poor decisions when in promising positions, Summerville has looked lively and Magassa has had a decent half, although I thought he looked a touch sluggish and off the pace early on.
I honestly don't see what Nuno can do here with these players. It will need some miracle work to get this team functional again. Am not going to be critical of Nuno, but if things do go sour, I am not sure I can have sympathy for someone who knew exactly what they were walking into under this ownership. I hope of course it doesn't but I am fully convinced with these set of players it ultimately will.
I found Lopeteguis management rubbish, Potter I actually thought had the resemblance of doing something but I think its the players more than his management that have really let the side down and ultimately cost him his job as manager. Sure there were certainly a few questionable things but nothing on the scale of Lopetegui.
However for me at least we have reached a crescendo where any manager that is coming in under this absolute chaos personified ownership really cannot have any complaints with what follows, even if the ownership sells them down the river.

What a fantastic player for the club Obiang was.

At least Nuno knows how awful this side now is.
