Ryder Cup 2025

Anyone watching?

I feel as though I know the course as it's one of the courses on WGT (an online golf game); it's interesting seeing it being played on in real life.

  • watching off and on ,Europe needs to smash them .But wont tell them that to near here in Canada =)
  • 3 big wins for Europe in the first 3 foursomes matches, but we're 2 down in the final match with 6 to play. A nice lead guaranteed to take into the afternoon fourballs, and will be even better if we can sneak something from the last match.

Macintyre and Hovland make complete mess of 17 and 18 so 3-1 Europe going into four balls.
  • Yeah, a shame after having got it back to all square from 3 down.
  • A great second session, even with the miss by Rory on the last which woulda made it another 3-1 to Europe. Still, it was another winning session, and I'm sure every European will be very happy with 5.5 v 2.5 and day 1.
  • It starts at 7pm out here, until 6am, so I'm on student time again! It's great theatre, but the crowd are better behaved than I expected. They only know 'USA USA USA ' and BOO. Football crowds put them to shame. 9 more points needed.👍
  • 8.5 points will mean we retain it.
  • God those American fans are annoying .
  • Try living next to them =)
  • Someone on the BBC just called the Viktor Hovland and Robert MacIntyre team Vik and Bob! Course they are.
  • BBC also described the crowd yesterday as more London Stadium than Upton Park.
  • I think this crowd behaviour could boil over. Rory has already given them a volley after they tried to put him off a shot.
    It’s starting to turn nasty.
I just hope we shut them up by thrashing ‘em.
  • I think they’re getting thrashed by the cost of tickets. $750 for a day ticket.

Yesterday was a thrashing all right. Wonder how many USA fans will bother to turn up today? They're not very good losers. I hope security is tight.
Donald, your golf is gone to hell, btw 😀
  • Comment in BBC Have your say:
Read in David Attenborough voice - "sadly, the typical US sports fan, not being the brightest in the world, will double down on boorish behaviour in a vain attempt to support their team....not realising the damage that they do their own players instead".
  • I'm loving the early blue on the scoreboard. Hovland's withdrawal takes us to 12 points already, so just 2 and a half points needed from the 11 singles to be played.
  • This could end up a helluva lot closer than we imagine. Half of our team look shattered.
  • Am not seeing a reverse of the miracle at Medina - we have got this, thankfully
  • Getting much closer than I'd like it, especially with Rose and Fleetwood both losing on the 18th and Fitzpatrick throwing away a 5 up lead to be all square going up the 18th.

    Then again………🙏

  • Who’d have thought that every one of our big guns would bottle it.

This is painful to watch. The Americans are overall just better golfers when it comes down to 1:1 matches which is probably why they win most tournaments.
  • Retained thanks to Lowry
  • Thank goodness for that, the 18th had been cruel to us earlier on, but a win on 18 gave Lowry a half and means we, at worst, retain the cup. Phew.
  • That last hole from Lowry was ridiculous - have no nails left….way to close for comfort…well done all
  • And we win thanks to Hatton winning a half point against Morikawa.
  • 15-13 to Europe in the end.

Sport never ceases to amaze me.

Great weekend of golf America back in there box for a bit
  • I was having kittens by the end. I think Fitzgerald's unexpected half point gave the team a lift, and so glad Aberg came through at the end. Highlights were Lowry's dance and seeing all those classy Americans clearing off the moment they had lost, without even waiting for their team to finish.
  • I've seen a red golf hat with MAGAGA
with the caption Make America Great
At Golf again. Rory should send it to Trump
