Wolves v West Ham - Tuesday 26th August, 19:30pm

edited August 23 in Match Threads
So, respite from being thrashed in the league; we now have the prospect of going out of the cup.

Two sides with 0 points from 2 games, both sides with limited transfer windows & both sides with managers who replaced managers last season.

Rotation will happen. I'd go fairly strong, but away from the back 3/5...

Areola
Walker-Peters - Mavropanos - Kilman - Diouf
Souček - Potts - Irving
Bowen - Paquetá
Wilson

We need something positive, to set us up for Forest away. A win in the cup, a signing or two & then arrive at Forest with hopefully more of a spring in our step than we currently have.

I can only see us losing, but maybe with the pressure being off & a few changes we may surprise ourselves.

Comments

  • No rotation.

    Play our best X1.

If Potter even knows what that is.

We haven't got time or space to faff about with giving fringe players match time. It's vital that our preferred starting XI in the Pl get to grips with being any good.

We are one of the few (4?) PL teams that are drawn against another in the league. Got to use the opportunity to try to up our game.

    All IMO obvs.
  • I would agree, just don't see it.

I'd play the best side too, maybe bringing Areola back in. But not sure it will happen.
  • Think Potter said this was a chance to play other players whether that means one or two or more who knows

Wolves lost three regular starters over the summer, they got big transfer fees for Cunha and Ait-Nouri but Nelson Semedo decided to join Fenerbahce on a free rather than sign a new contract

With plenty of cash to splash they took up the option to make Jorgen Strand Larsen’s loan permanent, signed Norwegian LB David Moller Wolfe from AZ, RW Fer Lopez from Celta Vigo, Columbian RW Jhon Arias from Fluminense and last week added Cameroonian RB Jackson Tchatchoua from Hellas Verona

Signing Tchatchoua was fortunate as RB Ki-Jana Hoever suffered a knee injury on Saturday. Their weekend didn't get any better, CB Toti Gomes - appointed captain after Semedo left - was sent off when they were already 1-0 down

    Wolves best available XI

    Doherty (c) Agbadou S Bueno
    Tchatchoua Bellegarde J Gomes Wolfe
    Munetsi Larsen Arias

Palace are negotiating a loan with option to buy for Hee-chan Hwang who hasn't started since FA Cup 4th Round against Blackburn
