  • Oh my, a huge let off, how did he miss?
  • Stadium almost empty.
  • All them so far
  • I can see huge business at East London cardiac units if we carry on trying to play out from the back all season.
  • Tbh I want us to keep trying to play out from the back until we are better at it. I'm quite bored of seeing us having less of the ball than almost every team we play.

Even in the opening stages of this game, you can see where we lose confidence and knock it long, giving them the ball back almost every time.
  • Fullkrug scores after a wicked ball in from Diouf.
  • Get in, Fullkrug.

Was just typing that Bowen was having one of those days where the ball just won't stick, he fluffs his shot off a superb cross from Diouf, but then has the composure to just square it to Fullkrug for a tap in.
  • Now they hit the bar, they must be wondering how they're losing, I certainly am 😂🤣😂.
  • They hit the bar ,How are we ahead
  • Diouf hits another whipped cross, could provide a lot of threat this season if we're lucky.
  • Diouf looks like some player to me
  • A few thoughts on the first half (I know it's pre-season, so not suggesting any of this is hugely meaningful at this stage):

    - We're still not keeping the ball well or creating very much. I'm a bit surprised that Potter hasn't yet got us holding onto possession a bit better yet. Maybe he doesn't have the personnel, but I feel like JWP, Paq, Potts and those CBs should be able to string a few more passes together than they are

    - Potts looks very tidy and comfortable and moves and passes very intelligently, including a couple of cute passes through the lines. He seems to be on a good wavelength with Paqueta

    - JWP was a bit of a passenger and not contributing an awful lot. We could really do with a midfielder with some invention and/or athleticism to break the lines. I'm not seeing any consistent patterns of play yet, or ways to create chances consistently

    - Fullkrug looks a presence and a threat

    - Diouf is getting very high up the pitch and has a very good delivery. On the other side, AWB is doing the same but not sure about his final product, and this system would rely on quality from both WBs IMO

    - We still look easy to open up and ropey at the back. The midfield needs more athleticism, but I really feel these three CBs should, between them, be more solid than they are. I'm not sure why they're not. Maybe they're just not that good
  • We’re not keeping the ball well today but we have done in the previous two games
  • We average 55% under potter
  • Potts looks tidy but lightweight
  • Bowen skews a shot well wide, not quite on it this evening.
  • How on earth was Potts booked there, it wasn't even a foul.
  • Areola lucky his faffing about with the ball didn't cost us a goal, the post hit again.
  • Bowen scores after another beauty of a delivery from Diouf

Bowen skews a shot well wide, not quite on it this evening.

But he scores anyway, and another great ball in by Diouf again.
  • Soucek, Rodriguez, Mavropanos, and KWP on for Potts, Fullkrug, Todibo and AWB.
  • Orford and Irving coming on for JWP and Paqueta.
  • Scarles and Marshall on for Diouf and Bowen.
  • 2-0 FT, flattered us somewhat, but Diouf looked really good.
  • Bowen can't count, they hit the woodwork 3 times not twice.
  • Diouf looks like hes gonna be a real asset, nice having a great crossing full back, haven't really had that since Cresswell who lost his legs a good few years back
  • Good 3 tough games still things to work on .Got lucky today with the clean sheet ,But have to say feel a bit better for the season then I did a couple of weeks ago .The squad looks like there bonding which is good to see
  • Been watching some of the Man Utd vs Everton game.

Moyes looks quite cross and frustrated.

Everton look like they need a few signings.
