Spurs (home) 2pm Sunday 4th May (not on TV)

No takers? Oh well, on your heads be it!

No surprise at all but Spurs are totally focused on reaching the Europa League final. Over the last six games they've played three Premier League - lost all three - and three Europa League games - won two, drawn the other.

Starting line ups of the last three games

vs Bodo/Glimt

Vicario
Porro Romero Ven Udogie
Bissouma Bentancur Maddison
Johnson Solanke Richarlison

vs Liverpool

Vicario
Spence Danso Davies Udogie
Bergvall Gray Maddison
Johnson Solanke Tel

vs Forest

Vicario
Porro Romero Ven Spence
Kulusevski Bentancur Sarr
Oderbert Richarlison Tel

We definitely won’t be seeing CM Lucas Bergvall who was seen at the Bodo/Glimt match with a protective boot and a pair of crutches or CB Ragu Dragusin who had surgery in February

Son is back training on his own so probably nowhere near fit for the bench and even if he was I doubt Postecoglou would risk him with the Europa League final coming up

There's also question marks over Maddison and Solanke who went off on Thursday although Postecglou said neither were serious and both were subbed as a precaution.

Maddison was replaced by Kulusevski has only started once but has been a substitute in every other game since returning from a foot injury three weeks ago. Solanke was replaced by Wilson Oderbert who has only had one start in the last six, against Forest

The only other substitution was Richarlson replaced at half time by Matys Tel (on loan from Bayern Munich) who has started the last three EPL matches. Giving them 45 minutes each seems a fair indication they'll be starting

At the back either Porro or Udogie will likely be replaced with Spence while Romero and Ven could be replaced by CB Kevin Danso (on loan from Lyon) and Davies

Okay got to go drive a train, back at lunchtime

  • Areola
    Todibo - Mavropanos - Kilman
    Wan-Bissaka - Souček - Paquetá - Emerson
    Bowen - Füllkrug - Kudus

Second half side from last weekend. They did lots right outside the last 5 minutes. Same again, better mentality.

Spurs will be thinking about the Europa League so no doubt an opportunity to take 3 points if we can be bothered.

    1-1
  • Best guess (working on the assumption that it's Udogie turn for a rest)

    Vicario
    Porro Danso Davies Spence
    Kulusevski Gray Sarr
    Oderbert Richarlison Tel

17yo LW Mikey Moore is an option, has made 16 appearances this season including and if Ange is being ultra cautious with his squad there's also 21yo CF Dane Scarlet who has made 3 appearances since returning from loan at Oxford

One player who has disappeared without a trace is Timo Werner, on loan from RB Leipzig. He suffered a hamstring injury in the FA Cup 3rd round against Tamworth, was dropped from the Europa League squad to accommodate Matys Tel, reappeared as a 82nd minute sub against Man City at the end of February and has not been seen since

Another player missing is Sergio Reguilon, last seen on the bench at that Man City match. At least he's been snapped training with the first team, word is he's going back to Spain in the summer with interest from Sevilla and Real Sociedad
  • We really should be winning this as this match is nothing more than a nuisance for Spurs and all that will realistically matter to them is avoiding injuries. Were I Poste I wouldn't be letting anyone he intends play on Thursday anywhere near this match! The result doesn't matter to them and the league will not complain as the result will not affect any relegation or Euro places.

    Kiss of death.
    LOSS
    :(
  • This has been one of the worst seasons for a long time. If we lose against this Spurs team, then the worst since we were last promoted.
    I almost don't care
  • Only 6 posts before teams are announced, and 2 of those are ASLEF's usual excellent run downs of the opposition. Seems like everyone else has been driven to a degree of apathy by this season like me.
  • Areola, Wan-Bissaka, Todibo, Kilman, Cresswell, Emerson, Souček, Paquetá, Bowen ©, Kudus, Füllkrug
Subs: Fabiański (GK), Coufal, Mavropanos, Rodríguez, Soler, Ward-Prowse, Luis Guilherme, Ferguson, Ings
  • Pretty strong, need a performance
  • That bench is really quite poor.
  • Where is Scarles ,is he injured .if not he should be playing some of these last games
  • Happy with that line up, Come on you Irons

I wonder if he's earmarked for the U21s quarter final with Man Utd tomorrow?
  • Where’s Alvarez? Injured, or not popular with Potter?

Listed as injured on the OS, there was previous mention made of a back issue.
  • I have read Alvarez has fallen out with Potter

I wouldn't be entirely surprised, very little has been made of his supposed back injury tbh.
  • COYI ⚒
  • Knocking it about quite well if that means anything

I don't like the way that Todibo plays the ball back to Areola in such a way as the keeper is drawn out quite wide; I can see a poor clearance by Areola presenting a chance as he'll be well outside the goal.
  • Davies rightly gets carded, I thought Oliver was gonna bottle it. Nice by Füllkrug.
  • Dreadful by Kilman.
  • That was rubbish.
  • Well that was just awful
  • Didn't even have to try. How much did JL pay for Kilman? He's been rubbish.
  • Maxropanos Kilman 🤬
  • defence is so tragic, Kilman on par with Mavropanos. 40m down the drain on that one.
  • Now Kudus is booked
  • Didn't even have to try. How much did JL pay for Kilman? He's been rubbish.

Although he was very poor with that mistake, overall I don't think he's been that bad this season, it's just that we did vastly overpay for a pretty average player.
  • Ridiculous yellow for Kudus.
  • The players are just so inept it’s painful
