We may have lost, but what a great performance in the 2nd half... I am not down after that loss, even for me, there's lot's of negativity on here, but overall, the 2nd half we deserved something...Oh well
Let’s be honest - this was a half baked Liverpool crawling towards the finish line. We played well second half when they decided they didn’t want to get out of first gear. We equalised, then they upped it & won when they wanted to.

This seems to be a common theme this season. Why can't we play for the whole game.
Yes, for sure, we can't continue like this next season otherwise we will be in deep trouble... But that's a bigger picture, 1st half we were naff, 2nd half, a new team....
We deserved a point from that and it was pleasing we did create things and never gave up in that second half. This said I do feel Liverpool sat back and should have pressed for a second. We saw them instantly move up a gear when the score was levelled.
Full transparency, I only joined the game in the 60th minute but I enjoyed what I saw, we played really well and deserved to get something from the game.
For their second, I think that the foul would have been given if it was on anyone else than paq - he has cried wolf and exaggerated just too often but you still have to defend the free kick - there was a hint of a shove but really nothing to get excited about, you have to be stronger than that.
Fullkrug was really unlucky with his header as he generated that chance out of almost nothing and hopefully he will become a more permanent fixture in the squad going forward.
I never mind losing when we show up and put the opposition on the back foot and from what I saw,we managed to do that today

Disappointing.
So we're putting Liverpool's performance in context but not our own? Whatever people have tried to say this season, we've never been at risk of going down, and we've had nothing to play for since the cup exit. Despite the fact that the players have been awful for a long time, and have nothing to play for, they turned up and did more than enough to deserve a point against the best team in the league. Obviously it's bitterly disappointing to concede so soon after equalising, but I don't feel like today is the day to lay into the team, personally.
I wasn’t being negative just merely stating a fact. This has been one of our worst ever seasons in the PL and unless we pick up at least a couple of wins from our last six games it will end that way. If one or more of the bottom three had been even half decent then we wouldn’t have the safety net we’ve got and our last dozen or so games would have been really nervy but as it stands it would take something catastrophic for us to go down. I’ve seen it too many times before but I struggle to remember a season where three teams have been so poor that relegation has been all but sorted by Christmas which has masked the fact that we have been poor since January 2024.
There is no doubt it has been a terrible season but each side has to accept that as a business they make decisions that don't always work out and we made a big one in Lopetgui. Man Utd also made a big one in keeping faith with Ten Hag, both decisions ended each teams season. Both teams have now attempted to correct the matter and will be hoping they are laying the ground for next season. It happens, and the good thing is we didn't get punished as you sometimes can with a relegation.
This is Potter playing with Lopetgui's squad, yet at times we do look ok and against good opposition such as the second half today and Arsenal which gives me hope for next season. A few gone, a few new faces and actual attackers and I feel we could be decent and kick on from where we hoped to after Moyes left.
We could have signed some better players over the past few years but in the main Mr Moyes didn’t want them, but who who have moved on for big fees. No I don’t have the links but neither do those who criticise to say we couldn’t have.
Alderz if that was true then there was no need for Declan to leave. The better players are either used to or want to be playing in European competition and would look at league positions and make a judgement on that. The way Europe is going 11th position is just outside European qualification.

Outside is outside. And there’s a difference between competing for the league and champions league than being in Europe too.
Anyone is welcome to see this as a catastrophe and be all doom and gloom, I just don’t see it that way.
I don’t think people are seeing it as a catastrophe or whatever but merely pointing out that since the beginning of 2024 we’ve played about 50 PL games and you’d be hard pushed to think of more than about 7 or 8 that you’d say we played really well for the whole or most of the game. That is what is annoying people. In more than 70 years of being a Hammer I can’t recall a longer spell of poor performances.
If you didn't enjoy the game against the heir apparents, apart from losing of course, then I don't know what you want. One of our top 5 performances of the season.
