Bournemouth (H) Saturday 5th April 3pm

Just three days until our next match so I might as well get it started

First of all Soucek must start

Bournemouth were possibly having the best season ever, they had an 11 game unbeaten run in the League from November to the end of January, they had reached 5th - the highest they'd ever been in the Premier League - and it looked like they might qualify for Europe for the first time.

Since then they reached the Quarters in the Cup for the third time in their history but their League form has slipped with a win over Saints, a draw with Spurs and seven loses culminating in Ipswich at home last night leaving them 10th.

The problem isn't that they don't score, they've scored in all of the last nine games but at the same time they've only kept two clean sheets in the last nine and both were in the Cup (Everton, Wolves)

When we meet on Saturday they will have played three games in seven days

I'll write more tomorrow

  • 'The problem isn't that they don't score' - Sounds familiar.

Our new problem is not scoring, I'd say. We're a bit better at the back these days, but you would be if you put all 10 outfield players on the line to block shots.
  • That is what I was intimating.
  • I thought you may have been referring to the fact our defence has been woeful but we've scored goals for the past two seasons.
  • Areola
Wan Bissaka, Alvarez, Kilman, Cresswell, Emerson
    Soucek, Ward-Prowse
    Bowen, Fullkrug, Paqueta
  • On Wednesday Iraola picked ten of the eleven that started against us in December

    Kepa
    Smith Zabamyi Huijsen Kerkez
    Christie Cook
    Ouattara Scott Semenyo
    Evanislson

He made three changes from the side that started against City but apart from Kepa only Antoine Semenyo played a full 90 minutes in both matches with CB Ilya Zabarnyi playing 87 minutes against Ipswich.

The absentee was top scorer and assist provider Justiin Kluivert, out with a knock, replaced by 21yo Alex Scott. Scott was replaced after 58 minutes by Welsh international David Brooks who started at RW against City

In his press conference Iraola didn't rule Kluivert out tomorrow but with Luis Sinisterra and Marcus Tavernier both injured its more likely he will give Brooks or Scott another start.

There's a bit of a problem at right back with three different players filling the role against ipswich

RB Adam Smith started but had only played 17 minutes against City since returning from injury and was replaced at half time by DM Tyler Adams with CM Lewis Cook moving to RB

CM Ryan Christie went off injured in the 2nd half and will be out for the rest of the season with a groin strain. With no more CM/DMs on the bench Christie was replaced by CB Marcos Senesi, Cook moved back into midfield and CB Dean Huijsen to RB.

Towards the end of the match Iraola switched to 4-4-2, replacing CB Ilya Zabarnyi with 21yo CF Daniel Jebbison who spent the first half of the season on loan at Watford and Cook moved to RB again

CB James Hill played RB when no one else was available and Mexican RB Julian Araujo is back from a hamstring but hasn't played since November

Turkish CF Enes Unal who scored Bournemouth's equaliser in December is out with a cruciate ligament tear

    Best guess starting XI

    Kepa
    ??????? Zabamyi Huijsen Kerkez
    Adams Cook
    Ouattara Brooks Semenyo
    Evanislson
  • Excellent work as usual ASLEF πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘.

Not saying it's accurate, but the BBC is reporting that Kluivert is out.

Probably the biggest team news going into this weekend's games and some that will be forcing a lot of you into transfers...

Arsenal defender Gabriel and Bournemouth midfielder Justin Kluivert will both be out this weekend, their managers have confirmed."

    Iraola asked about Kluivert

Justin also, I think is going to be difficult. I wouldn't say like Ryan, definitely not. But we'll see today if he can train with us and help us from the bench at least.

But he still feels tight, so I see difficult

    I think that’s definitely maybe
