I’d probably go with:

Aston Villa
Arsenal
Birmingham City
Chelsea
Everton
Fulham
Leeds United
Leicester City
Liverpool
Manchester City
Manchester United
Middlesbrough
Newcastle United
Nottingham Forest
Portsmouth
Southampton
Sunderland
Tottenham Hotspur
Wolverhampton Wanderers
West Ham United

Teams I debated - Blackburn Rovers, Derby County.

I think we have achieved some results without the performance to deserve them lately, but we will need to really produce something better than of late if we are going to get anything from this. The good thing is we will be assured scoring opportunities as Spurs are an attacking side now, so we will need to take them when they come, and hopefully Kudus and Bowen will be on song. The downside of that is our defence is likely to have a busy night. We will need to hope Zouma is back as Mavripanos does look a third choice to me and I don't see us getting surprised as we did with Dawson and him turning into a first choice, however Coufal and Emmerson have both looked really good lately.

He was being investigated alongside Sandro Tonali at Newcastle and Nicolo Zaniolo who is on loan at Aston Villa.

A few people on the transfer forum have mentioned that no club can compete now without oil money, or Saudi money, which is essentially the same thing. This season has seen a lot of footballers who proudly wore the “One love” armband and fronted the “no to racism” campaign join a league in a country with serious human rights issues.
I imagine a lot of Newcastle fans who were against the idea of a Saudi takeover are quite pleased at their Champions’ League placing, and are slowly going back to describing the club using “we” as opposed to “they”, and nobody seems to consider Man City when talking about the “selling your soul for oil money” thing.
My question is this:
How do you think you’d react if West Ham were bought by the Saudi Arabian royal family, and started buying Haaland, Bellingham et al, and assembling a £2bn first squad?
Let’s say the first season would see a Champions’ League Spot, and winning the league within 3 years. But pre-season tournaments would all be sports-washing exercises in Saudi, and West Ham would slowly put an end to involvement in pride events.
I’ll post my thoughts later, but feel free to hypothesise.

IMO, once the whistle blows for the penalty to begin, everyone should be allowed to run wherever they want. Encroachment, keeper rushing out, whatever. It's still a huge advantage to be 12 years old with a clear shot at goal, but it would be chaos, which I'm a fan of.

Listening to all the complaints about VAR, (which we all thought would be a saviour) I have an interesting thought on the offside judgement. As a linesman can't see plus or minus one millimetre, then why should VAR. The line projected across the pitch should be, say, representative of 4 inches (line widths) and if the offender is forward of that band then they are clearly offside. It is a mockery to judge football by the thickness of a boot lace. Comments on this and other VAR vagueries

What he did was thoughtless, but was sent to a private individual, who understood the wider context of the message, from a personal phone. What has that got to do with his job or the pl? He's lost his living through the spite of a former friend, judged by men of whom some, I have no doubt, have gleefully swapped sexist and racist jokes, and/or watched internet pornography or 'stag' performances. Is the idea now that we must live blameless lives, at least as far as the public record is concerned? And let's not have any 'PC gone mad' nonsense, thanks, this is nothing to do with 'PC'.

Just returned from my Thursday morning old fogies meeting where we spend most of our time drinking tea and putting the football world to rights. One fogey suggested that when a player is sent off a substitute should be allowed to take his place. His main arguments were (1) that the player concerned is the only villain involved and the rest of the team should not suffer because of his action.
(2) The supporters have paid their hard-earned cash to watch a game that is as equal as possible and by one team going down to ten men, they don’t get what they paid for.
Just wondered what the outstanding minds on this forum think.

So an offer of 800m to the FA has been made to sell Wembley Stadium to Shadiq Khan owner of Fulham and Jacksonville Jaguars. Would you sell ?

I would actually sell it just so the England team can go back to playing all over the country than just one location, but then again the 800 million will just go back into the pockets of the rich FA Mob who will do nothing with it to help Grass Roots so a part of me thinks why bother selling it.

It could also help further the use of the London Stadium which I imagine would become a "De-Facto" stadium to host concerts and so fourth, which is what it is definitely better for than football !
