Snodders signs one year extension

West Ham United is delighted to announce that Robert Snodgrass has penned a one-year contract extension with the Club until the summer of 2021.

The deal also contains an option for the 31-year-old midfielder’s stay at London Stadium to be extended by a further 12 months.

  • Not a transfer, but Snodderz has signed a one-year contract extension (until 2021). Suggests he still has a part to play under Pellegrini, but presumably as a CM rather than a winger.

Does this mean we won't see any more midfielders signed :hmm:
  • Good stuff, he's earned it.

Was included in every match day squad bar 2 last season (was suspended for those).

I think this is a really smart decision for several reasons.

Firstly it shows that, even if you appear to have no future, you can earn one in a short space of time simply by having a professional attitude, working hard & being a good character around the place.

Secondly it shows players that Pelle doesn't just want the fancy sort who do the step-overs & grab the headlines. He will find a place for the players below the headlines if he applies himself well.

Finally, it is a reward for Snodgrass & his efforts last season. I don't expect him to be in the 11 on a weekly basis, but when the suspensions or injuries appear, Xmas rocks up, things get busy, there is no better player to bring in & who will hit the ground running.

And, of course, he ain't a bad player. Technically very good, fantastic set-play delivery, versatile.

    Good news :ok:
  • Also shows what having a decent manager can do. Has managed to get the maximum out of him in a short space of time.
  • Fair play to him. Sounds like he is taking over the Vacated Ginger Pele role in the dressing room.

I hadn't realised he and his long-term partner got married this summer. Bless.

A video clip from the club site with him talking about signing a new contract etc

  • Good luck to him come back after being on loan and acted as a total pro, shame some of our more talented players don’t have the same mentality...
