Ayew and Payet in the same team again.

£20.5 million would be a club record fee.
  • Great signing
    Coyi
  • Poor show from the club

Only announcing two signings in one day.

Last season they managed four in a day

Come on Dave's you're a disgrace, pull your fingers out

I'm going to stay awake in the hope that you announce Bacca and a right back before the night is done

Hilarious - wiki says about Ayew

"... Who plays as a forward for premier league club West Ham United 'COYI....."
  • No mention of Ayew yet on West Ham or BBC websites. What kind of tin pot outfit are we when press releases come from the owners son Twitter account!
    ;doh
  • DG has confirmed it
  • Great day
    Two quality signings
    Well done
  • This is a superb addition.

To poach one of the best players from another club, a club many would say are on a par with us, and be able to attract him and sign him, is a great sign.

Have a feeling he is going to be a striker, not a winger.
  • Swansea aren't on a par with us based on last season ;hmm
  • Herb - but I think a lot of neutrals and Swansea fans would say it was not an obvious step up.

    We on the other hand...
  • Not a step up??
Remind me who has got Dimi??
  • Not a step up??
Remind me who has got Dimi??

What now or in a month? ;wink

I just don't think you understand ;wink
  • I disagree Lukerz.

Swansea were flirting with relegation for the first half of last season.

We got one of a smaller clubs better players, and he does improve us for sure, because it is a step up.

Grasshopper. In order to be able to launch yourself to the heights you often have to take a step back. Or two. Or even three.

    Just seen this ;lol

;quaver Payet to the left of me, Tore to the right, here I am
Stuck in the middle Ayew ;quaver
  • Very good player. Brings qualities we dont have. Abit too much money, but good to see they've back Slaven. Interesting to see how he fits in. ;thumbsup
  • Didn't we want him last summer but he went to Swansea for more money?

Does that make him like Bacca? ;hmm

    ;wink

Have a feeling he is going to be a striker, not a winger.

Will be interesting to see how our attacking players fit together. I read he was most effective for Olympique Marseille as the left-sided one of the forward 3, but that is where Payet has mainly played for us. Of course they did combine well in some games for Marseille. But the good thing is, for me, that Ayew seems to be left-footed, which provides us nice options if we want to play Payet and Ayew either side of AC, Sakho or another striker in our front 3. He was no. 10 at OM and now no. 20 at WHU, so I guess he considers himself a no. 10. Would be good to see him up front with AC some times in a 4-4-2, whether with wingers or diamond. In fact, I'd love to see

    -----AC---AA

    -------DP

    ----CK----MN

    AM----HN-----SB

    ----AO----WR

    -------ASM

(where AM [and later Cresswell] and SB are attacking full backs who get up and down), mixed up with

    ---DP---AC---AA

    ----CK-----MN
    --------HN

    AM---AO--WR---SB

    -------ASM
  • Give the bloke a chance. Knock the goals in, he will be a hero. Cant hit a cows bottom with a banjo......
Anyway, welcome Andy, good luck fella. Get stuck right in. ;ok
  • At the moment I think I'd go for:

    -----WH-----
    -AT--ON--EA-
    ---RT--HDO--
    --ES--TH--IS--
    AL---LME---AN

Bacca and a RB and were ready to fight with the big guns for a top 4 slot.
