A summer conundrum-what lolly is the best?

Just been informed by him_indoors that following a discussion at his work last night 'cherry brandy' came out as the best lolly.

I disagree.

What about the Zoom!?

You see that's the problem, I think the initial survey carried out by him_indoors is floored. What does he mean by lolly? If is is an ice lolly then fare enough but about about your ice / ice cream mix (Solero) or straight ice cream (Magnum)??

    ;hmm

  • Lolly to me means ice-lolly. Anything else is an ice-cream.

If you buy an ice-cream, you don't say I've just had a lolly, do you?

    (Or do you? ;hmm )

Tell that to the people who think a Jaffa Cake is a biscuit.
  • I agree, but him_indoors was very 'woolly' about the whole thing.

He actually thinks a cherry brandy ICE lolly can compete with a Magnum !! ;nonono

It doesn't deserve the dignity of being called either cake OR biscuit.

A jaffa cake is a weird plastic-sponge hybrid that is a metaphor for the decline and fall of Western civilisation.

Is it OK to eat ice-cream in winter?

By which I don't mean at a meal, as part of pudding or something. But to go to the shop or ice-cream van and buy a lolly/ice-cream on a stick, or a cone.

Yes it is. Full on cone with a flake, on the beach in the middle of winter. Best ice-cream ever.

Yes. Ice cream is one of the main food groups. Eating it all year round should be actively encouraged.
